Her Excellency Mrs Aloun Ndombet-Assamba was received in audience by The Queen today upon her appointment as High Commissioner for Jamaica in London.
The Viscount Ridley was received by Her Majesty and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by his father, the late Viscount Ridley.
Mr Alistair Wood was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary and Comptroller to The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.
Mr Stephen Gourmand was received by The Queen when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Member of the Royal Victorian Order.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, was represented by the Lord Kirkham (Chairman of the Trustees) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Mr Joseph McNally (formerly Trustee and Charter Founder Member) which was held in Holy Trinity Church, Cookham, Berkshire, this afternoon.
By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Her Excellency Ms Barbara Tuge-Erecinska at 47 Portland Place, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from Poland to the Court of St James’s.

His Royal Highness later received Professor Swaminathan (Chairman, M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation India).

The Countess of Wessex this morning opened the renovated Lightwater Surgery, 39 All Saints Road, Lightwater, and was received by Mrs Lesley Myles (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).
Her Royal Highness this afternoon chaired a Charities Forum Meeting.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened the Olympic Wing at St John’s Church of England School, Buckhurst Hill, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).
