COURT CIRCULAR

Balmoral Castle

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Major Sir Shane Blewitt at the Memorial Service for the Lord Napier and Ettrick (formerly Private Secretary to The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon) which was held in the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1, this afternoon.

The Princess Royal was represented by Captain Nicholas Wright RN.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Lieutenant Colonel Sir Simon Bland.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Birdwood.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning visited Tallent Automotive Limited, Aycliffe Plant, Skerne Road, Aycliffe Business Park, Newton Aycliffe, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham (Sir Paul Nicholson).

His Royal Highness this afternoon opened Bede Sixth Form College, Marsh House Avenue, Billingham, County Durham.

The Duke of York later visited Sabic UK Petrochemicals, the Wilton Centre, Redcar, and was received by Major Peter Scrope (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire).

The Duke of York this evening arrived in Northern Ireland and, having been received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast (Dame Mary Peters), attended a Dinner given by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP) at Hillsborough Castle.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning held Meetings at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Patron, British Paralympic Association, and The Countess of Wessex, today visited the Paralympic Games.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, British Paralympic Association, and The Countess of Wessex this evening attended the Paralympic Ball at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London W1.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, today visited the Paralympic Games.
