COURT CIRCULAR

Balmoral Castle 

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) received Her Excellency Mrs Baktygul Kalambekova at St James’s Palace this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Court of St James’s.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales this morning received Air Vice Marshal David Murray upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Services Secretary and Rear Admiral Simon Williams upon assuming the appointment.

The President of the Republic of Gabon called upon His Royal Highness.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, received Mr Hank Dittmar (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership, received Sir Andrew Witty (Chief Executive, GlaxoSmithKline).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, Joint Patrons, Diamond Champions (the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service campaign to recognise the contribution of older volunteers), this afternoon received campaign Ambassadors at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness, President, Business in the Community, afterwards held a Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales later received Mr Paul Polman (Chief Executive, Unilever) and Mr Keith Weed (Leadership Executive).

St James’s Palace 

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, representing The Queen, today carried out the following engagements to mark Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

Their Royal Highnesses this morning departed from Solomon Islands for Tuvalu and were received this afternoon at Funafuti International Airport by the Governor-General of Tuvalu (His Excellency Sir Lakoba Italeli).

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge subsequently attended a Ceremonial Welcome at Vaiaku Falekaupule, Funafuti.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Nauti Primary School, Funafuti.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge later visited the University of the South Pacific, Funafuti.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Tuvalu Village, Funafuti.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended a State Dinner given by the Governor-General at Tausoa Lima Falekaupule.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this morning received the Lord Baker of Dorking (Chairman, University Technical Colleges), Mr. Charles Parker (Chief Executive Officer) and Mr David Harbourne (Senior Education Adviser).

His Royal Highness received Mr Iain Gray (Chief Executive, Technology Strategy Board).

The Duke of York this afternoon received Mrs Susan Haird upon relinquishing her appointment as Deputy Chief Executive of United Kingdom Trade and Investment.

His Royal Highness later opened Yammer, 80 Great Eastern Street, London EC2.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning departed from Toronto International Airport for the United Kingdom and this evening arrived at Heathrow Airport, London.

Brigadier John Smedley was in attendance.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Jubilee Woods Project, this morning planted a tree at the University of York Kimberlow Hill Diamond Wood, Heslington, York, and was received by Professor Sir Ronald Cooke (Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon attended the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations of Pony Trekking and opened the Cairngorms Riding for the Disabled Group at Newtonmore Riding Centre, Biallid Farm, Fort William Road, Newtonmore, Inverness-shire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Inverness (Donald Cameron of Lochiel).

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, later attended the Fortieth Anniversary Celebrations at the Highland Wildlife Park, Kincraig, Kingussie, Inverness-shire, and was received by Mr Fergus Laing (Deputy Lieutenant of Inverness).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Vine Trust, this evening attended a Dinner at Drumossie Hotel, Old Perth Road, Inverness, and was received by Mrs Susie Swift (Deputy Lieutenant of Inverness).

Kensington Palace 

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, for Finland, to mark Helsinki as the World Design Capital 2012, and were received upon arrival this afternoon at Finland Helsinki Vantaa Airport by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Finland (His Excellency Mr Matthew Lodge).

Their Royal Highnesses this evening attended a Reception given by Her Majesty’s Ambassador at the Residence in Helsinki.

Mrs Michael Wigley and Captain Simon Tidd are in attendance.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra, Patron, this morning visited Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild at St James’s Palace.

Her Royal Highness, Joint President, Cancer Research UK, this afternoon received Mr Michael Pragnell (Chairman).

Princess Alexandra received the Ambassador from the Kingdom of Thailand and Mrs Wasinondh.
