Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen, today carried out the following engagements in Zambia in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

Her Royal Highness this morning called upon Chief Mukuni at the Mukuni Royal Establishment, Mukuni Village, Livingstone.

The Princess Royal afterwards visited the Butterfly Tree Charity in Mukuni Village.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, later visited Riders for Health, Mosi-oa-Tunya Road, Livingstone.

The Princess Royal subsequently visited Book Bus Foundation, Mosi-oa-Tunya Road.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Reception given by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia (His Excellency Mr James Thornton) at the David Livingstone Museum, Mosi-oa-Tunya Road.

The Princess Royal this evening departed Zambia for the United Kingdom.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, this evening attended the British Association of Friends of Museums Conference at the Towner Gallery, Devonshire Park, College Road, Eastbourne, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr Peter Field).

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President, the Royal Institution of Great Britain, this evening attended the Friday Evening Discourse at 21 Albemarle Street, London W1.
