Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, this evening held a Reception to mark the Sixtieth Anniversary of Action Medical Research at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, President Emeritus, WWF International, was represented by Sir Anthony Acland, KG (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the United States of America) at the Memorial Service for the Life of the Hon Russell Train (Founder of WWF-US) which was held in St John’s Church, Lafayette Square, Washington DC, United States of America, this morning.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex this morning opened the Museum of Somerset and the Glass Bridge (a new footbridge linking Castle Green to Goodland Gardens), Taunton Castle, Castle Green, Taunton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Lady Gass).

His Royal Highness this afternoon opened Langford Budville Jubilee Hall, Wellington, Somerset.

The Earl of Wessex, on behalf of The Queen, later received the gift of a Sundial from the people of Devon in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, Roadford Lake Country Park, Roadford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr Eric Dancer).

His Royal Highness this evening attended the Incorporation of Weavers, Fullers and Shearman of Exeter Livery Dinner at Tuckers Hall, 140 Fore Street, Exeter, Devon.

The Countess of Wessex this morning opened the new Student Hub at Edge Hill University, St Helens Road, Ormskirk, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire (the Lord Shuttleworth).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited Brighter Future Workshop, 20 Greenhey Place, Gillibrands, Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

The Countess of Wessex later visited Hotter Comfort Concept Shoes, 2 Peel Road, West Pimbo, Skelmersdale.

Her Royal Highness this evening attended the Campaign for Wool event to launch Wool School at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, 66 Knightsbridge, London SW1.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended the Eight Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary Service of Paisley Abbey and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire (Mr Guy Clark).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Texas Instruments (UK) Limited, Larkfield Industrial Estate, Greenock, Renfrewshire.
