The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, today carried out the following engagements in Papua New Guinea.
Their Royal Highnesses this morning attended an Ecumenical Service of Worship at the Sir John Guise Stadium, Port Moresby.
The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, afterwards presented The Queen’s Colours and Regimental Colours to The Royal Pacific Islands Regiment.
Their Royal Highnesses subsequently attended a Cultural Welcome Ceremony at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended a Diamond Jubilee Reception at the National Bird of Paradise and Orchid Garden, Orchid Street, Port Moresby, and were received by the Governor of the National Capital District (the Hon Powes Parkop MP).
His Royal Highness, President, World Wide Fund for Nature — United Kingdom, and Her Royal Highness later visited Boera Village, National Capital District.
The Prince of Wales later held an Investiture at the Airways Hotel, Port Moresby.
Their Royal Highnesses were entertained to a State Dinner this evening by the Governor General of Papua New Guinea and Lady Ogio.
