COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry at the Memorial Service for Elizabeth, Duchess of Northumberland which was held in St Michael’s Church, Alnwick, Northumberland, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were represented by the Earl Peel.

The Princess Royal was represented by the Viscount Ridley.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by the Lord John Montagu Douglas Scott.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by the Hon Mrs Fairfax.

By command of The Queen, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Derek Leask at New Zealand House, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, today carried out the following engagements in Papua New Guinea.

His Royal Highness this morning visited Hohola Youth Development Centre, National Capital District, Port Moresby.

The Prince of Wales later received the Hon Peter O’Neill MP (Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Port Moresby.

His Royal Highness subsequently received Mr Belden Namah MP (Leader of the Opposition) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The Prince of Wales, accompanied by The Duchess of Cornwall, this afternoon visited Remembrance Park, Koki Point, Ela Beach, Port Moresby, and laid a wreath.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Haus Ruth Women’s Refuge, Port Moresby.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards departed Jackson’s International Airport, Port Moresby, for Australia.

The Governor-General of Papua New Guinea and Lady Ogio were present and bade farewell to Their Royal Highnesses.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later arrived at Longreach Airport, Queensland, and were received by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia (Mrs Quentin Bryce), the Governor of Queensland (Mrs Penelope Wensley) and the Hon Campbell Newman MP (Premier of Queensland).

Their Royal Highnesses, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, carried out engagements in Longreach, Queensland.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, Friends in the United Kingdom, and The Duchess of Cornwall drove to the Qantas Founders Museum, Sir Hudson Fysh Drive, and named a new Royal Flying Doctor Service aircraft.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre, and Her Royal Highness afterwards visited the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame, Landsborough Highway.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall subsequently attended a Community Barbecue at the Cattlemen’s Bar and Grill, Landsborough Highway.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Habitat for Humanity Great Britain, this evening attended a lecture entitled “Reconstruction Following a Disaster” at Linklaters LLP, 1 Silk Street, London EC2.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, President of the Board of Trustees, this morning attended a briefing on future developments at the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, London SE1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the British German Association, this evening attended a Dinner in London given by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany (His Excellency Mr Georg Boomgaarden).
