COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended a Reception at St James’s Palace given by The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and were received by the Captain (the Lord Newby).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, this afternoon chaired the Regimental Council Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, today carried out the following engagements in Victoria, Australia.

Their Royal Highnesses this morning gave a Reception at Government House, Melbourne, for Australian and International journalists.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, afterwards visited the Australian Tapestry Workshop, 262/266 Park Street, South Melbourne, and was received by the Hon Edward Baillieu MP (Premier of Victoria).

His Royal Highness subsequently met participants of the “Harmony” programme at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Brunton Avenue, East Melbourne.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon attended a Diamond Jubilee Reception and Melbourne Cup Day at Flemington Racecourse, Leonard Crescent, Flemington.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, and Her Royal Highness were represented by Air Marshal Ian Macfadyen (Trustee, the Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Trust) at the Funeral of Flight Lieutenant William Walker (oldest surviving Battle of Britain veteran) which was held in St Clement Danes Church, Strand, London WC2, this morning.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Royal Honorary Colonel, The Royal Wessex Yeomanry, this evening attended the Bounty Club Dinner at the Honourable Artillery Company, Armoury House, City Road, London EC1.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the National Autistic Society, this afternoon visited the Countryside Learning Centre, Priors Court School, Hermitage, Thatcham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs. Bayliss).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Christ’s Hospital, this morning received Mr Andrew Gordon (Acting Clerk, Christ’s Hospital Foundation).

His Royal Highness, President, Public Monuments and Sculpture Association, this evening presented the Marsh Award for Excellence in Public Sculpture at the Gallery, Alan Baxter and Associates, 70 Cowcross Street, London EC1.
