Buckingham Palace
The Queen, Patron, the Royal British Legion, this morning visited the Poppy Factory, 20 Petersham Road, Richmond, Surrey, to commemorate its Ninetieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s LordLieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer), the President of the Poppy Factory (Mrs Sarah Jones), Mr Bernard Cook (Chairman of the Trustees), Mrs Melanie Waters (Chief Executive) and the Mayor of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (Councillor Rita Palmer).
The Queen toured the production area, meeting workers making wreaths, poppies and crosses, and Her Majesty made a poppy.
The Queen subsequently met trustees, staff and clients from “Getting You Back to Work” scheme in the canteen.
Her Majesty held a Council at 5.30pm.
There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon David Jones MP (Secretary of State for Wales), the Lord McNally (Deputy Leader of the House of Lords and Minister of State, Ministry of Justice) and the Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP (Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government).
The Lord Ashcroft, the Rt Hon Paul Burstow MP, the Rt Hon Andrew Stunell MP and the Lord Wallace of Saltaire were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
The Rt Hon Patricia Marwick MSP made affirmation as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this afternoon attended the Colonels Commandant Lunch at Stationers’ Hall, Ave Maria Lane, London EC4.
His Royal Highness, Freeman and Liveryman, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended a Livery Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.
The Princess Royal, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, today carried out engagements in South Australia.
His Royal Highness, President, this morning attended a seminar with The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community and the Victorian Government Architect at the National Gallery of Victoria, 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, and was received by the Premier of Victoria (the Hon Edward Baillieu MP).
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards visited Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, 57 Miles Street, Southbank.
Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon visited Kilkenny Primary School, Jane Street, West Croydon.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards attended a showcase of South Australia’s Food and Wine Industry at Penfolds Vineyard, 78 Penfold Road, Magill.
Their Royal Highnesses later visited Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide, where The Prince of Wales attended an exhibition highlighting South Australia’s economic innovation.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Diamond Jubilee Community Reception given by the Governor of South Australia and Mrs Scarce at Government House, Adelaide.
The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended a Reception for Osteoporosis Australia at Government House, Melbourne.
Her Royal Highness was represented by the Hon Lady Cazalet at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Lord Oaksey which was held in St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, London SW1, this afternoon.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting.
The Earl of Wessex, President, Sport and Recreation Alliance, this evening held a Dinner.
The Countess of Wessex, Grand President, St John Ambulance in the Priory of England and the Islands, this morning visited the Rise Project at St. Georges Town Hall, 236 Cable Street, London E1, and was received by Commander John Ludgate (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, National Institute of Adult Continuing Education, subsequently attended the Launch of a Report on Armed Forces Basic Skills Study at the Ministry of Defence, Whitehall, London SW1.
The Princess Royal, Court Assistant, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended the Fishmongers’ Livery Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

The Duke of Kent, Field Marshal, this morning attended the Senior Serving and Retired Officers’ Briefing at the Army and Navy Club, 36-39 Pall Mall, London SW1.
His Royal Highness this evening departed from Royal Air Force Brize Norton for Ascension Island and the Falkland Islands.
