COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The following were received in audience by The Queen today and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Mark Canning (the Republic of Indonesia), Mrs Sharon Campbell and Mr Christopher Campbell (jointly to the Republic of Costa Rica and the Republic of Nicaragua), Mr Lindsay Croisdale-Appleby (the Republic of Colombia) and Dr Carolyn Browne (the Republic of Kazakhstan).

Mrs Croisdale-Appleby was also received by Her Majesty.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning planted a Cross of Remembrance in the Royal British Legion Field of Remembrance at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, London SW1.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, on behalf of The Queen in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, today carried out the following engagements in Tasmania, Australia.

Their Royal Highnesses first of all visited the town of Richmond.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Campaign for Wool, this afternoon visited Leenavale Sheep Stud, Sorell.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Hobart and met members of Australia’s Antarctic Science and Marine Management Community.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later visited Salamanca Place, Hobart, before attending a Diamond Jubilee Reception at Princess Wharf, given by the Hon Lara Giddings MP (Premier of Tasmania).

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon attended a Reception with Tasmanian rural women at the Millhouse, 2 Wellington Street, Richmond.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Cambridge, Patron, and The Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended a Dinner for the University of St Andrews Six Hundredth Anniversary Appeal at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, London EC4.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this afternoon attended a briefing at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, Whitehall, London SW1.

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Patron, RYA Sailability, this morning received Mrs. Patricia Dodd (Chairman) and Mrs. Morna Clarke-Hughes (Trust Manager).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, received the Right Reverend John Gladwin (Chairman) and Mrs Gillian Guy (Chief Executive).

The Princess Royal, Court Assistant, the Fishmongers’ Company, later attended a Court Meeting and Luncheon at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon unveiled a commemorative bust of Noor Inayat Khan in Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1, and was received by Her Majesty’s LordLieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Anglian Regiment, this morning attended the Homecoming Parade at the Basildon Centre, St Martin’s Square, Basildon, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present at a Service of Thanksgiving to honour the Life and Work of King Michael of Romania which was held in The Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy, London WC2, this afternoon.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent this morning arrived on Ascension Island.

His Royal Highness visited the Ascension Island Jubilee View Picnic Site and met members of the Island’s community.

The Duke of Kent later departed Ascension Island for the Falkland Islands and was received upon arrival this afternoon at Mount Pleasant Airport, Falkland Islands, by the Governor (His Excellency Mr Nigel Haywood).

His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception at Government House, Stanley, for Members of Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly and representatives of community groups and business leaders.
