COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Queen held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Mr Marcus Humphrey was received in audience by The Queen and presented a Loyal Address from the Convention of the Baronage of Scotland to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

Mrs Humphrey was also received by The Queen.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

His Royal Highness, Chief Patron, Surf Life Saving Great Britain, this afternoon gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Admiral and Member, this evening attended the Royal Yacht Squadron Annual Winter Dinner at Merchant Taylors’ Hall, 30 Threadneedle Street, London EC2.

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this morning visited Dorset County Hospital, Williams Avenue, Dorchester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mrs Anthony Pitt-Rivers).

His Royal Highness later visited Poundbury.

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Council, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Association, this morning chaired a Meeting at Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay, St Julian’s, Malta.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this afternoon attended the International Trustees’ Meeting at Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex this evening called upon The President of the Republic of Malta at the Palace, Valletta.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and Her Royal Highness subsequently attended the Opening Ceremony of the Eleventh Forum of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Association at the Palace, Valletta.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex later attended a Trustees’ Dinner at Casino Maltese, Valletta.

The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Mdina.

Her Royal Highness later visited The President of the Republic of Malta’s official Residence and Gardens, San Anton Palace, and was received by Mrs Abela (wife of The President).

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of London, this morning received Professor Geoffrey Crossick on relinquishing his appointment as Vice Chancellor and Professor Sir Adrian Smith upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, President, the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts Manufactures and Commerce, received Mr Matthew Taylor (Chief Executive) and Mrs V. Heywood (Chairman).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, later visited the Durrell Wildlife Park, Trinity, and was received by the Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Jersey (General Sir John McColl) Her Royal Highness, President, Animal Health Trust, subsequently opened the Annie Rouse Building at the Jersey Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Veterinary Centre, 89 St Saviour’s Road, St Helier.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, this evening attended a Reception to mark the Fortieth Anniversary of Her Royal Highness’s patronage of the Trust at Les Augrès Manor, Trinity.

Her Royal Highness later attended a Dinner at Government House, St Saviour’s Hill.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, Senior Fellow, this afternoon visited “A Perfect Place to Grow” Exhibition at the Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, London, SW7.

The Duchess of Gloucester, on behalf of The Queen, Patron, Musicians Benevolent Fund, this morning attended the Festival of Saint Cecilia Service in St Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4, in celebration of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent, Patron, British Computer Society, today received Mr David Clarke (Chief Executive) and Mr Robert Harvey (President).

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra this morning arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from the United States of America.

Mrs Brian Duke was in attendance.

Appendix to Court Circular

The Queen has approved the following promotions within Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms: Major Edward Crofton to be Harbinger upon the retirement of Colonel Michael Robertson.

The appointment to date from 22nd November 2012.
