His Royal Highness, Patron, the Antarctic Winter Crossing Expedition 2012, this afternoon visited SA Agulhas berthed outboard HMS Belfast, London SE1, and launched “The Coldest Journey” Expedition to the Antarctic.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Campaign for Wool, later visited Anderson and Sheppard, Old Burlington Street, London W1.

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Prince’s Charities Meeting.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Sun Military Awards Ceremony at the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, London SE1, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Commodore-in-Chief, The Royal Naval Medical Services, this afternoon received Surgeon Rear Admiral Lionel Jarvis upon relinquishing his appointment as Medical Director General (Naval) and Surgeon Rear Admiral Calum McArthur upon assuming the appointment.

Her Royal Highness, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Halton, received Group Captain Christine Elliot upon relinquishing her appointment as Station Commander and Group Captain Simon Harper upon assuming the appointment.

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York, Patron, the International Space Innovation Centre, this morning opened the Eighth Appleton Space Conference, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell, Didcot, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr Timothy Stevenson).

His Royal Highness later opened the New Building at Churchill Hospital, Cancer and Haematology Centre, Headington, Oxford.

The Duke of York this afternoon attended a Luncheon given by the Royal Society in support of Women in Science at the Biochemistry Department, University of Oxford, South Parks Road.

His Royal Highness later visited Happiest Minds, 200 Brook Drive, Green Park, Reading, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss).

The Duke of York this evening attended the key note lecture and a Reception at the Eighth Appleton Space Conference and was received by Mr Paul Bradstock (Deputy Lieutenant of Oxfordshire).

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex this evening gave a Dinner.
