COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning visited the Bank of England and were received by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor (Alderman Roger Gifford) and the Governor of the Bank of England (Sir Mervyn King).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness, escorted respectively by Mr Gareth Ramsay (Head of Division supporting Independent Reviewers of the Bank’s performance) and Ms Victoria Cleland (Head of Banknotes Division), toured the Bank, viewing various operations and meeting members of staff.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Muhammad Al Thani (Prime Minister of the State of Qatar).

His Royal Highness later attended an Accounting for Sustainability Forum at St James’s Palace and subsequently held a Reception at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Emmaus UK, this morning visited Emmaus Hampshire, Bar End Road, Winchester, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Her Royal Highness, President, the National Osteoporosis Society, later visited the Osteoporosis Centre and Medical Research Council Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit at Southampton General Hospital, Tremona Road, Southampton.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited MS Queen Victoria at Ocean Terminal, Southampton.

The Duke of York this afternoon received Mr Gary Winnick (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Capital Group).

Buckingham Palace 

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, this morning visited HM Prison Liverpool, 68 Hornby Road, Liverpool, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside (Dame Lorna Muirhead).

Her Royal Highness, President, Carers Trust, this afternoon visited Knowsley Carers Centre, 143 Bewley Drive, Liverpool.

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, afterwards visited Beechley Stables, Harthill Road, Liverpool.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, this evening attended a Carol Service in Dorchester Abbey and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr Timothy Stevenson).

St James’s Palace 

The Duke of Kent this morning visited Ultra Electronics, Bridport Road, Greenford, Middlesex, and was received by Mr Robert Leader (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited 562 Transport Squadron, Territorial Army Centre, Hayes Bridge, Southall, Middlesex.

The Duke of Kent later visited Pitzhanger Manor, Walpole Park, London W5.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park 

Princess Alexandra, Patron, this evening attended the New Bridge Foundation Celebration of Christmas in the Parish Church of St George, Hanover Square, London W1.
