COURT CIRCULAR

Sandringham, Norfolk

The Queen held a Council at 11.15am.

There were present: the Rt Hon Andrew Lansley MP (acting for the President), the Rt Hon Gregory Barker MP (Minister of State, Department of Energy and Climate Change), the Rt Hon Mark Francois MP (Minister of State, Ministry of Defence) and the Rt Hon Damian Green MP (Minister of State, Ministry of Justice, jointly with the Home Office).

The Lord Hill of Oareford was sworn in as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Andrew Lansley MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

After the Council the Lord Hill of Oareford had an audience of The Queen, was sworn Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, kissed hands upon his appointment and received from Her Majesty the Seals of Office.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited Pextenement Cheese Company, Pextenement Farm, Eastwood, Todmorden, and was received by Mrs Kathryn Moreton-Deakin (Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, later visited the Leeds Area Group at Gaetton Hill Farm, Wike Lane, Bardsey, Leeds, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr Ingrid Roscoe).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Army Medical Corps, this morning received Colonel Simon Mellor upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Brigadier Alistair Macmillan upon assuming the appointment.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President of the Council, King Edward VII’s Hospital (Sister Agnes), this morning received the Lord Glenarthur (Chairman).

His Royal Highness, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, received Mr Alan Pateman-Jones (Director General) and Mrs Claire Samber (Secretariat Manager).
