Windsor Castle
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were present this morning at the Funeral of the Baroness Thatcher, LG, OM which was held in St Paul’s Cathedral.
By command of Her Majesty, Mr Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Eduards Stiprais at 45 Nottingham Place, London W1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Latvia to the Court of St James’s.
Buckingham Palace
The Countess of Wessex this morning visited Greenfield School, Duffryn Road, Pentrebach, near Merthyr Tydfil, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan (Mrs Kathrin Thomas).
Her Royal Highness, on behalf of The Queen, this afternoon visited the Royal Mint, Llantrisant, Pontyclun, Mid Glamorgan.
Buckingham Palace
The Princess Royal, President, Carers Trust, this morning attended a Conference to mark the First Anniversary of Crossroads Care East Anglia at Belsey Bridge Conference Centre, Belsey Bridge Road, near Ditchingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk (Mr Richard Jewson).
Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon visited Hollesley Group at Pettistree Hall Farm, near Sutton, to mark its Twenty Fifth Anniversary, and was received by Mr John Kerr (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk).
The Princess Royal, President, Save the Children UK, afterwards attended a Reception at the University Campus Suffolk, Waterfront Building, 19-21 Neptune Quay, Ipswich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Lord Tollemache).
Her Royal Highness, Appeal Patron, Woolf Institute, this evening held a Dinner at St James’s Palace.
Kensington Palace
The Duchess of Gloucester today visited Cornwall and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant (Colonel Edward Bolitho).
Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Piran Performing Arts Centre at Truro High School for Girls, Falmouth Road, Truro.
The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Patron, afterwards watched a performance by the TR14ers Community Dance Team at the Elim Centre, Dolcoath Drive, Camborne.
Her Royal Highness, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, later visited Heron Tennis Centre and Newquay Tennis Club, Trenance Park, Newquay.
The Duchess of Gloucester subsequently visited St Eval Candle Company, Engollan, near St Eval.
St James’s Palace
The Duke of Kent, President, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, this morning received Mr Philip Brook (Chairman).
His Royal Highness, Grand Master, the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George, this afternoon attended an Officers’ Meeting at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, King Charles Street, London SW1.
