Windsor Castle
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today visited the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court, Headley, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Dame Sarah Goad), the Commander, Defence Medical Group (Surgeon Commodore Peter Buxton) and Group Captain Clare Walton (Commanding Officer).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness toured the Centre, escorted respectively by the Commanding Officer and Colonel Alan Mistlin (Military Clinical Director), viewing patients engaged in therapy and rehabilitation and meeting staff attending each group of patients, and meeting patients, doctors, nurses and therapists.
The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, opened the renovated Peter Long Unit, before being entertained to Luncheon by the Commanding Officer in the Officers’ Mess.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, this morning visited the Samaritans Centre, Soho, 46 Marshall Street, London W1.
His Royal Highness later received representatives from national heritage conservation organisations.
The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, and President, the Heritage Crafts Association, this afternoon presented craft skills awards at Glaziers Hall, 9 Montague Close, London SE1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).
His Royal Highness, President, this evening gave a Reception for The Prince’s Regeneration Trust.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, the National Literacy Trust, this morning undertook the following engagements as part of the Middlesbrough Reading Campaign.
Her Royal Highness attended a children’s writing workshop at Middlesbrough Central Library, Centre Square, Middlesbrough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (the Lord Crathorne).
The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards presented certificates to winners of the “I Love Middlesbrough” poetry competition and joined a book giveaway session in Centre Square.
Her Royal Highness subsequently attended a Reception at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, Centre Square, Middlesbrough, for supporters of the campaign.
The Duchess of Cornwall, President, Barnardo’s, this afternoon visited Barnardo’s Sexual Exploitation of Children of the Streets Project in Middlesbrough.

The Earl of Wessex, Vice Patron, Commonwealth Games Federation, today met Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Volunteers at Commonwealth House, Albion Street, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Sadie Docherty, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
His Royal Highness, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Coopers, this afternoon presented awards to new apprentices at Trades Hall, 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow.
The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, later visited Bearsden Academy, Stockiemuir Road, Bearsden, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire (Rear Admiral Michael Gregory).
