COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace 

Major General Richard Cripwell was received by The Queen today upon his appointment as Administrator of the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia and Commander British Forces Cyprus.

Dr the Rt Hon Lockwood Smith was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London.

Mrs Smith was also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Sebastian Wood was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China.

Mrs Wood was also received by The Queen.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of Her Majesty this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this afternoon presented Operational Medals to 40 Commando at Norton Manor Camp, Taunton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Lady Gass).

His Royal Highness, Patron and Honorary Member, Royal Corps of Naval Constructors, this evening attended the One Hundred and Thirtieth Annual Dinner at Qinetiq, Haslar Marine Technology Park, Haslar Road, Gosport, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

Clarence House 

The Prince of Wales today visited Stoke-on-Trent and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr Ian Dudson).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Teach First, this morning visited the Co-operative Academy of Stoke-on-Trent, Westport Road, Tunstall.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, afterwards visited the Wedgwood Institute, Queen Street, Burslem.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, this afternoon visited Swan Bank Church, Swan Square, Burslem.

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, subsequently visited Middleport Pottery, Port Street, Burslem, and attended a Reception and Meeting for representatives from His Royal Highness’s charities.

The Duchess of Cornwall today attended Devon County Show at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr Eric Dancer).

Buckingham Palace 

The Duke of York this afternoon opened the new dock at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Canada.

His Royal Highness, Member, later visited Vancouver Rowing Club.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Dinner for the Junior Achievement British Columbia Business Laureate at the Fairmont Hotel, Vancouver, and was received by the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia (the Hon. Judith Guichon).

Buckingham Palace 

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Northern Ballet, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness later received Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Romania (Mr Martin Harris) and the Ambassador of Romania (His Excellency Mr Ion Jinga).

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Northern Ballet, and The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a performance at Sadler’s Well, Rosebery Avenue, London EC1.

Kensington Palace 

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon opened the student residences at Heriot-Watt University, Scottish Borders Campus, Galashiels, and was received by Sir Michael Strang Steel, Bt (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale).

His Royal Highness afterwards opened the Margaret Kerr Unit at Borders General Hospital, Melrose.
