Buckingham Palace
The Queen held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.
Her Majesty held a Council at 5.30 p.m.
There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State, Ministry of Justice), the Rt Hon David Jones MP (Secretary of State for Wales), the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP (Secretary of State, Department for Transport).
The Rt Hon Sir Michael Briggs, the Rt Hon Dame Elizabeth Gloster, the Lord Hodge, the Rt Hon Sir Ernest Ryder, the Rt Hon Lady Smith and the Rt Hon Sir Nicholas Underhill were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.
Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.
The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.
Her Majesty this evening took the salute at Beating Retreat by the Massed Bands of the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade and was received by the Major General Commanding the Household Division (Major General George Norton).
By command of The Queen, Mr. Charles Gray (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Park Suk-Hwan at 60 Buckingham Gate, London SW1, this afternoon in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Korea to the Court of St James’s.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning visited Erskine Home and Personnel Recovery Centre, 468 Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
His Royal Highness, Admiral of the Fleet, this afternoon visited Her Majesty’s Naval Base Clyde, Faslane, Dunbartonshire.
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, Patron, later visited the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, 100 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Sadie Docherty, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).
His Royal Highness, President, this evening held a Dinner for The Prince’s Trust at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.

The Duchess of Cambridge this morning named The Royal Princess at Ocean Dock Terminal, Southampton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

The Duke of York today attended the Founders Forum at the Grove Hotel, Chandler’s Cross, Hertfordshire.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon attended a Clay Shoot at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School, Tomb Farm, Pangbourne, Berkshire.
His Royal Highness this evening attended the Fiftieth Anniversary of Young Enterprise Reception at Loseley House, Guildford, and was received by Mr Michael More-Molyneux (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).
The Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited Kingfisher School, Foxdenton Lane, Chadderton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester (Mr Warren Smith).
Her Royal Highness afterwards opened the new Women and Children’s Unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Road, Oldham.
The Countess of Wessex, Patron, the Hallé Concerts Society, later opened the new rehearsal rooms and attended a rehearsal at Hallé St Peter’s, 40 Blossom Street, Ancoats, Manchester.

The Princess Royal this morning received Mrs Claire Aldridge (Chairman, the British Horse Society) and Mrs Lynn Petersen (Chief Executive).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Medical Research Council Mitochondrial Biology Unit, received Professor Sir John Walker upon relinquishing his appointment as Director and Professor Massimo Zeviani upon assuming the appointment.
The Princess Royal, Patron, Restorative Justice Council, received Mr Graham Robb (Chairman) and Miss Elizabeth Nelson (Director).
Her Royal Highness, Patron, Catch 22, this afternoon visited Auto22 Paddock Wood, the Garage, Hop Pocket Lane, Paddock Wood, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L’Isle).
The Princess Royal, President, the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, afterwards attended the Annual Recovery Reception at the River Centre, Medway Wharf Road, Tonbridge, Kent.
Her Royal Highness, Stowaway Member, the Southampton Master Mariners’ Club “The Cachalots”, this evening attended the Shipping Festival Service and Reception in Winchester Cathedral and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

His Royal Highness this morning visited the Dinosaur Park and Geological Gardens at Crystal Palace Park, Anerley Hill, London SE19, and was received by Colonel Robert Murfin (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Crystal Palace High Level Railway Station, London SE19, and was received by Mrs Jennifer Bianco (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
