COURT CIRCULAR

Palace of Holyroodhouse

The Queen this morning visited the new John Buchan Museum at the Chambers Institution, High Street, Peebles, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Tweeddale (Captain Sir David Younger), the Chairman of the Trustees (Mr John Scott Moncrieff) and the Chairman of the Museum (Mr Ian Buckingham).

Her Majesty toured the Museum, escorted by the Chairman of the Museum, before meeting museum representatives and Peebles citizens.

The Queen this afternoon re-opened Abbotsford House, Melrose, Roxburghshire, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Roxburgh, Ettrick and Lauderdale (Captain the Hon Gerald Maitland-Carew) and the Chairman of Abbotsford Trust (the Lord Sanderson of Bowden).

Her Majesty was entertained to Luncheon by the Chairman of the Trust and afterwards drove to the Visitor Centre and toured the ground floor exhibition.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the studios of BBC Wales in Cardiff and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr Peter Beck).

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust, afterwards visited The Prince’s Trust — Cymru, 16 Ocean Way, Galdames Place, Cardiff.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the Farmers’ Co-operative Shop in Treharris and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan (Mrs Kathrin Thomas).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Teach First, later visited Ebbw Fawr Learning Community, Strand Annealing Lane, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gwent (Mr Simon Boyle).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Emmaus UK, this morning visited the Emmaus Shop at 36-38 New Road, Porthcawl, and was received by Mr Roy Noble (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Mid Glamorgan).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Cowbridge Physic Garden Trust, this afternoon visited Cowbridge Physic Garden, Church Street, Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, today attended Receptions at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award.

The Countess of Wessex, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Army Music, this evening attended the Summer Concert at Kneller Hall, Twickenham, Middlesex, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon visited the Clyde Tunnel, Glasgow, to mark its Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Mrs Jean McFadden (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, University of the Highlands and Islands, later opened the North Highland College Equestrian Centre at Dale Farm, near Halkirk, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Caithness (Miss Anne Dunnett).

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Friends of St. Paul’s Cathedral, this afternoon attended the Annual Festival Service in St. Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, President, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, today attended the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships at Church Road, London SW19.
