The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, this morning arrived at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Lusaka, and was received by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia (His Excellency Mr James Thornton).

His Royal Highness later called upon Mr Alexander Chikwanda (Acting President of the Republic of Zambia) at the Ministry of Finance in Lusaka.

The Earl of Wessex, accompanied by His Honour Dr Guy Scott (Vice President of the Republic of Zambia), afterwards attended a Reception at Government House for young people who have achieved the Gold ­Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award — Zambia.

The Earl of Wessex this evening ­attended a Dinner for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award — Zambia at the Intercontinental Hotel, Haile Selassie Avenue, Lusaka.

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Oasis House, 35-37 Campbell Street, Northampton, and was received by the Lord Boswell of Aynho (Deputy Lieutenant of Northamptonshire).

His Royal Highness afterwards ­visited the Charles Rennie Mackintosh House, 78 Derngate, Northampton, to mark the Tenth Anniversary of its restoration and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire (the Lady Juliet Townsend).
