COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The following were received by The Queen this afternoon upon their appointment as Justices of the High Court when Her Majesty conferred upon them the honour of Knighthood and invested them with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor: Mr Justice Baker, Mr Justice Birss, Mr Justice Cobb, Mr Justice Jay, Mr Justice Keehan, Mr Justice O’Hara, Mr Justice Stewart and Mr Justice Turner.

Mrs Justice Rose was received by The Queen upon her appointment as a Justice of the High Court when Her Majesty invested her with the Insignia of a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening gave a Reception for Members of Parliament and European Parliament at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Man Booker Prize for Fiction Award Ceremony and Dinner, Guildhall, Gresham Street, London EC2.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, London College of Fashion, this afternoon attended a Lunch at Cafe Royal, 69 Regent Street, London W1.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended the Royal National Mòd at Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Abbey and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Renfrewshire (Mr Guy Clark).

Her Royal Highness, Honorary Member, Mudhook Yacht Club, this evening attended the One Hundred and Fortieth Annual Dinner, Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club, the Club House, Rhu, Helensburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire (Rear Admiral Michael Gregory).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning re-opened Westerdale Village Hall and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (the Lord Crathorne).

His Royal Highness this afternoon travelled from Pickering Railway Station to Levisham Railway Station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards opened the Green House at Peat Rigg Outdoor Training Centre, Cropton, Pickering.

His Royal Highness later visited Scarborough Engineering Week at the Spa, South Bay, Scarborough.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade to Millers Oils Limited, Hillside Oil Works, Rastrick, Brighouse, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire (Dr. Ingrid Roscoe).

His Royal Highness later visited Greenhead College, Greenhead Road, Huddersfield.

The Duke of Kent this afternoon presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade to the University of Huddersfield and The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion to Professor Elizabeth Towns-Andrews (Director of Research and Enterprise, University of Huddersfield) at the University, Queensgate, Huddersfield.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Extra Care Housing Scheme at Woodland Court, School Lane, Staincliffe, Dewsbury.
