COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Her Honour Vaughn Solomon Schofield was received by The Queen today upon her appointment as Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

Mr Gordon Schofield was also received by Her Majesty.

The Rt Hon Gregory Knight MP was received by The Queen and delivered up his Wand of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household.

The Rt Hon Desmond Swayne MP was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household when Her Majesty handed to him his Wand of Office.

The Rt Hon Desmond Swayne MP, as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household, subsequently presented an Address from the House of Commons to The Queen to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Dr Peter Tibber (the Republic of the Sudan), Mr Philip Malone (the Lao People’s Democratic Republic) and Mr John Kittmer (the Hellenic Republic).

Mrs Tibber and Mrs Sarah Tan-Malone were also received by Her Majesty.

Mr Nicholas Pyle was received in audience by The Queen upon his appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Botswana.

Ms Rosamund Day was also received by Her Majesty.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Life Member, Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, this morning presented The Prince Philip Award at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning held a Meeting for the Foundation for Building Community and North Highland Initiative.

His Royal Highness afterwards received the Rt Hon Alistair Carmichael MP (Secretary of State for Scotland).

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this afternoon received Lieutenant General Simon Mayall (Defence Senior Adviser to the Middle East).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning received the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales, Patron, Rugby Football Union All Schools Programme, this morning attended a Training Day at Twickenham Stadium, Middlesex.

His Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies at Imperial College, South Kensington Campus, London SW7, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Duke of York, Royal Colonel, The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, this morning took the salute at the Homecoming Parade at the Town Hall, Penicuik, before presenting Operational Service Medals at Glencorse Barracks, Penicuik, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Midlothian (Mr Patrick Prenter).

His Royal Highness this afternoon received Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey (Sir David Reddaway).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning held a Meeting.

The Earl of Wessex, Chairman, International Special Projects, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Foundation, and The Countess of Wessex gave a Dinner this evening.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Disability Initiative, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Resource Centre, Knoll Road, Camberley, to mark the Tenth Anniversary of Her Royal Highness’s patronage and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Dame Sarah Goad).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, this morning opened the Pædiatric Ward and the new Operating Theatres at The Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Holtye Road, East Grinstead, as part of the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex (Mrs Susan Pyper).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this afternoon opened the Portsmouth Citizens Advice Bureau at Ark Royal House, Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth, and was received by Brigadier David Harrison (Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire).

The Princess Royal, Commodore-in-Chief, Portsmouth, afterwards visited Block Mills, HM Naval Base, Portsmouth.

Her Royal Highness, Commodore-in-Chief, Portsmouth, subsequently visited the Royal Marines School of Music at HM Naval Base.

The Princess Royal, Commodore-in-Chief, Portsmouth, this evening attended a Trafalgar Night Dinner at HMS Collingwood, Fareham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Dame Mary Fagan).

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent today presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade to MW High Tech Projects UK Limited, Methuen South, Bath Road, Chippenham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Mrs Peter Troughton).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Ark Data Centres, Hartham Park, Corsham, Wiltshire.
