The Queen, Patron, Protector and Supporter, Royal Academy of Arts, today received Mr Christopher Le Brun (President) and Dr Charles Saumarez-Smith (Secretary and Chief Executive).
The Rt Hon Sir John Randall was received by Her Majesty and delivered up his Wand of Office upon relinquishing his appointment as Treasurer of the Household.
Mr Gregory Hands MP was received by The Queen upon his appointment as Treasurer of the Household when Her Majesty handed to him his Wand of Office.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Fellow, the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, this morning received Professor Jonathan Binner (Fellow) and Mr Jan Lewis (Fellow), who presented the Bessemer Gold Medal to His Royal Highness.
The Queen was represented by Professor John Cunningham (Head of the Medical Household and Physician to The Queen) at the Memorial Service for Sir Rodney Sweetnam (formerly Orthopædic Surgeon to The Queen) which was held at St Clement Danes Church, London WC2, this afternoon.

The Duke of Cambridge, Patron, this evening held the Centrepoint Winter Whites Gala Dinner and Concert at Kensington Palace.
Buckingham Palace
The Earl of Wessex this morning opened the Door Youth Project at 45 High Street, Stroud, and was received by Mr Robert Bernays (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).
His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Renishaw Plc, New Mills, Wotton-under-Edge, to present The Queen’s Award for Enterprise to the Company and to celebrate their Fortieth Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).
The Earl of Wessex afterwards opened the Bristol Technology and Engineering Academy, New Road, Stoke Gifford.
His Royal Highness, Patron, Bristol, Clifton and West of England Zoological Society Limited, later opened the new Gorilla Island at Bristol Zoo, Clifton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol (Mrs John Prior).

The Duke of Kent this morning visited Weston under Penyard Church of England Primary School, School Lane, Weston under Penyard, to mark their One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire (the Countess of Darnley).
His Royal Highness afterwards visited Haigh Engineering Limited, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited Tudorville and District Community Centre, Walford Avenue, Ross-on-Wye.
