COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen this morning visited Westminster Hall at the Palace of Westminster, London SW1, to view the Diamond Jubilee stained glass window and was received by the Lord Great Chamberlain (the Marquess of Cholmondeley), the Lord Speaker (the Baroness D’Souza), the Speaker of the House of Commons (Mr John Bercow) and Black Rod (Lieutenant General David Leakey).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Lord Great Chamberlain, met those involved with the creation of the window, Peers, Members of Parliament and members of staff before entering the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft, where The Queen was received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend John Hall).

Her Majesty listened to a short musical performance by the organist before viewing the font and the Emily Davidson cupboard.

Afterwards The Queen listened to speeches delivered by the Speakers of the House of Lords and House of Commons in Westminster Hall.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a Prince’s Charities’ International Sustainability Unit Meeting at the British Academy, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1.

His Royal Highness later visited the helicopter crash site at the Clutha Bar, 167-169 Stockwell Street, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Sadie Docherty, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay afterwards visited Glasgow Royal Infirmary, 84 Castle Street, Glasgow.

His Royal Highness subsequently attended a Reception at Glasgow City Chambers, George Street, Glasgow.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, Colonel, Irish Guards, today took the salute and presented Afghanistan Operational Service Medals to No 2 Company, 1st Battalion at a parade at Mons Barracks, Aldershot, Hampshire.

The Duchess of Cambridge this afternoon visited Shooting Star House, the Avenue, Hampton, Middlesex.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning opened University Technical College Reading, Crescent Road, Reading, and was received by Mr C. Dobson (Deputy Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Microsoft UK, Thames Valley Park, Reading.

Buckingham Palace

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations, today attended Sainsbury’s Farming Conference at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK), this afternoon attended the Annual Fellows’ Luncheon at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, 4-18 Harrington Gardens, London SW7.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon attended a Reception and presented the Royal Charter to the Association of Building Engineers at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn, 8 South Square, London WC1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).
