COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, today received Lieutenant General Andrew Graham upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel of the Regiment and Major General James Cowan upon assuming the appointment.

Brigadier John Smedley was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Private Secretary to The Earl and Countess of Wessex when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The King and Queen of the Belgians were invited to Luncheon with The Queen.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and The Duke of Kent were present.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, National Association of Round Tables of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, this morning received members of Round Table Gibraltar and Round Table Airdrie and Coatbridge.

His Royal Highness, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, this afternoon received the Honorary Freedom of the Ironmongers’ Company at Ironmongers’ Hall, Shaftesbury Place, Barbican, London EC2, to mark the affiliation of the Regiment with the Company.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this evening attended the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7.

The Lord Gardiner of Kimble (Lord in Waiting) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this morning upon the Arrival of The King and Queen of the Belgians and welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of The Queen.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Michael Shervington upon assuming his appointment as Commanding Officer 3rd Battalion.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir David Frost which was held in Westminster Abbey today.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received representatives from the Commonwealth Youth Council.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, The Prince’s Countryside Fund, held a Rural Action Programme Meeting at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness later received Dame Sally Davies (Chief Medical Officer).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise, Founder, In Kind Direct, and Founder, Mosaic, this evening held a Dinner at St. James’s Palace to celebrate “Transforming Lives through Enterprise”.

The Duke of York, accompanied by Princess Beatrice of York, was present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir David Frost which was held in Westminster Abbey today.

His Royal Highness this evening received Mr. Mark Carney (Governor, Bank of England).

The Duke of York afterwards held a Financial Services Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Princess Royal, Court Assistant, the Fishmongers’ Company, this morning attended a Court Meeting and Luncheon at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

St James’s Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Mr. Nicolas Adamson at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir David Frost which was held in Westminster Abbey today.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Lieutenant Colonel Gordon Birdwood at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir David Frost which was held in Westminster Abbey today.
