Buckingham Palace

The Lady Kingsdown was received by The Queen and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Garter worn by her husband, the late Lord Kingsdown.

The Hon. James Leigh-Pemberton was also received by Her Majesty.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr. Ian Hughes (the Republic of South Sudan), Mr. Asif Ahmad (the Republic of the Philippines) and Mr. David Moran (the Swiss Confederation).

Mrs. Zubeda Khamboo and Ms. Carol Marquis were also received by Her Majesty.

Ms. Joanna Kuenssberg was received in audience by The Queen upon her appointment as British High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique.

Dr. Fionnbharr O’Súlleabáin was also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening for the Lieutenant Governors of the Crown Dependencies.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon gave a Reception at Clarence House for Members of Parliament.

His Royal Highness later received Mr. Michael Day (Chief Executive, Historic Royal Palaces) and Mr. John Barnes (Conservation and Learning Director).

The Prince of Wales, President, The Prince’s Teaching Institute, this evening held a Reception at St. James’s Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, this morning visited the National Literacy Trust’s “Words for Work” programme at the City Academy, Hackney, Homerton Row, London E9, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duke of York, Patron, Baker Dearing Educational Trust, this morning opened Visions Learning Trust University Technical College, Victoria Mill, Burnley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire (the Lord Shuttleworth).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited TechHub Manchester, 77 Dale Street, Manchester, and was received by Mr. Michael Oglesby (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester).

The Duke of York, Patron, later visited Code Club at Rolls Crescent Primary School, Hulme, Manchester.

His Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards visited Broughton House, Home for Ex-Service Men and Women, Park Lane, Salford.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this afternoon opened the new offices for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Swan House, Madeira Walk, Windsor.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, the London Mozart Players, this evening attended a Concert to mark the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of residency at Fairfield Halls, Croydon, Surrey, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Combined Services Winter Sports Association, this afternoon attended a Prizegiving Lunch at the Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Army Music, this evening attended a Dinner at the Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly, London W1.

The Princess Royal this morning visited Kent Blaxill and Company Limited, 129 Layer Road, Colchester, to mark their One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Anniversary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Essex (the Lord Petre).

Her Royal Highness afterwards viewed the renovations at Colchester Castle.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the Butler Trust, this afternoon presented the Annual Awards at Buckingham Palace.
