COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh left the Palace of Holyroodhouse this morning.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to the Forth Road Bridge to mark its Fiftieth Anniversary and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost) and Mr Barry Colford (Chief Engineer and Bridgemaster).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards arrived at HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH in Rosyth Dockyard and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Fife (Mrs Brian Dean), the First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff (Admiral Sir George Zambellas) and Mr Ian Booth (Programme Director, Aircraft Carrier Alliance).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness met Royal Naval Captains and construction staff before witnessing a fly-past by the Red Arrows of the Royal Air Force.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attended a Service of Dedication before Her Majesty named HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH.

Afterwards The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh witnessed a fly-past by aircraft of the Royal Air Force.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning visited Plough Chapel, Lion Street, Brecon, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Powys (the Hon Mrs Legge-Bourke).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Restorative Justice Council, this morning attended a Reception to launch Kirklees as a Restorative Community Safety Partnership at the Town Hall, Wakefield Old Road, Dewsbury, and was received by Major Stanley Hardy (Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, later visited the Barnsley Group, Oakwell Centre, Pontefract Road, Barnsley, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr David Moody).

The Princess Royal, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this afternoon opened the new Barnsley and District Citizens Advice Bureau at Wellington House, 36 Wellington Street, Barnsley, on the occasion of its Fiftieth Anniversary.

Her Royal Highness afterwards opened Horizon Community College, Dodworth Road, Barnsley.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, today attended the Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Wimbledon, London SW19.
