Professor John Cunningham was received by The Queen this evening upon his retirement as Head of the Medical Household and Physician to The Queen when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General, Royal Marines, this afternoon inspected cadets at the Royal Marines’ Three Hundred and Fiftieth Foundation Parade at Buckingham Palace.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, English Tourism Week, this morning visited Glastonbury Abbey and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset (Lady Gass).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Reception at the Almonry Barn, Muchelney, Somerset, for members of the local rural community who suffered from the recent flooding and representatives from the agencies and charities who supported them, and was received by Mr David Medlock (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset).

The Prince of Wales, Patron, English Tourism Week, later attended a Meeting with representatives from First Great West Trains and Visit England travelling from Castle Cary Railway Station, Somerset.

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, and The Duke of Cambridge, with Prince Henry of Wales, this evening attended the Annual Responsible Business Awards at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Rothesay, Chancellor, the University of Aberdeen, this afternoon opened Aberdeen Sports Village Aquatics Centre, Regent Walk, Aberdeen, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor George Adam, the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Aberdeen, afterwards attended a graduation ceremony at King’s College, Aberdeen.

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace.

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended a Films Without Borders Retrospective and Dinner at Windsor Castle.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations, today attended the Great Yorkshire Show, Harrogate, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (the Lord Crathorne).

The Princess Royal, Patron, RYA Foundation, this morning opened Lakeside at Ferry Meadows and visited Peterborough Sailability, Nene Park Trust, Ferry Meadows, Ham Lane, Peterborough, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mr. Hugh Duberly).

Her Royal Highness, President, Royal Yachting Association, later attended the Squib Class Keelboat National Championships at the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club, Royal Plain, Lowestoft, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Lord Tollemache).

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester this morning visited the Hythe Centre, Thorpe Road, Staines-upon-Thames, and afterwards visited Spelthorne Borough Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines-upon-Thames, meeting members of the community and emergency service workers who helped during the recent floods, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Dame Sarah Goad).

The Duke of Kent this afternoon visited Cochrane Hall, Alva, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Clackmannanshire (Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Stewart).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Alva Glen, Clackmannanshire. The Duke of Kent later visited Dollar Museum, Castle Campbell Hall, 1 High Street, Dollar, Clackmannanshire.
