COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh arrived at Matlock Railway Station this morning and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire (Mr William Tucker).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to John Smedley Limited, Lea Mills, Lea Bridge, and were received by the President (Mr John Maclean) and Councillor John Walker (Mayor of Amber Valley).

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh toured the factory, escorted respectively by Mr Ian Maclean (Managing Director) and the Chairman (Mr Charles Marsden-Smedley).

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness today visited Chatsworth House and were received by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh met community groups, before viewing restoration work to the house and meeting members of the voluntary and charity sectors.

Afterwards Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were entertained to Luncheon by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

The Queen was represented by Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of Sir Nicholas Browne (formerly Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark) which was held at St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Chairman, the Royal Collection Trust, this morning chaired a Meeting of the Trustees at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Business Emergency Recovery Group Meeting at Clarence House.

The Prince of Wales later attended a Prince’s Charities’ International Sustainability Unit Meeting at St James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness this evening received Mr Feike Sijbesma (Chief Executive Officer, Royal DSM).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, On Course Foundation, this morning attended the On Course Golf Day in the Great Park, Windsor Castle.

His Royal Highness, Patron, York Minster Fund, afterwards received Mr Richard Shepherd upon relinquishing his appointment as Director and Dr Peter Spence upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of York, Patron, today held a Meeting for the International Festival of Light 2015.

His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Meeting for Rotherham Ready.

The Duke of York later held a CoderDojo (a code learning workshop) at Buckingham Palace for young people from local schools.

The Earl of Wessex, Patron, Tennis and Rackets Association, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon opened the new restaurant at the Union Jack Club, Sandell Street, London SE1.

Her Royal Highness, President, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, later attended a Meeting at Weston House, 42 Curtain Road, London EC2.

The Countess of Wessex this evening attended a performance of “Who Said That” by Scene and Heard at the Theatro Technis, 26 Crowndale Road, London NW1, and was received by Sir Ian Johnston (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this morning attended a Committee of Wardens’ Meeting following by a Court Meeting and Luncheon at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, President, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conferences, this afternoon received Sir Alan Parker (Chairman).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Tenovus, this evening attended the Volunteer Awards Ceremony at St David’s Hotel and Spa, Havannah Street, Cardiff, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr Peter Beck).

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra this morning visited Tickwood Care Farm, Wyke, near Much Wenlock, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire (Sir Algernon Heber-Percy).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the offices of Midland Newspapers, Waterloo Road, Ketley, Telford, Shropshire, to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of “the Shropshire Star.”
