Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Freeman, the Worshipful Company of Drapers, this afternoon attended a Luncheon at Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorton Avenue, London EC2, to celebrate the Six Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Company and was received by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor (Alderman Fiona Woolf) and the Master (Admiral of the Fleet the Lord Boyce).

Her Majesty viewed exhibits relating to the Company’s history and met governing body representatives, wardens and assistants before illuminating a new chandelier and signing a Commemorative Instrument.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Intelligence Corps, this morning received General Sir Nicholas Houghton upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Major General James Hockenhull upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Freeman and Liveryman, the Fishmongers’ Company, this afternoon attended the Doggett’s Coat and Badge Wager Rowing Race on the River Thames followed by Luncheon at Fishmongers’ Hall, London EC4.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by Jennifer, Lady Gretton (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Sir Timothy Brooks (formerly Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire) which was held in Leicester Cathedral this afternoon.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were represented by Colonel Murray Colville.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent was represented by Mr. Nicolas Adamson.

By command of The Queen, Mr Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon Her Excellency Miss Ana Delgado at 40 Hertford Street, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Panama to the Court of St James’s.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited River Cottage Restaurant Park Farm, Trinity Hill Road, Musbury, Axminster, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Sir Eric Dancer).

Their Royal Highnesses this afternoon visited the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Training Academy, Exeter International Airport¸ Exeter, and were received by Sir John Cave, Bt (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Devon).

The Prince of Wales later visited Royal William Yard, Plymouth, to mark the Centenary of the coming together of the towns of Devonport, Stonehouse and Plymouth to form the city of Plymouth.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community, later visited the Grand Hotel, Elliot Street, Plymouth.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon reopened Exeter Library, Castle Street, Exeter.

The Duke of York this afternoon unveiled the Woodley War Memorial, Headley Road, Woodley, Reading, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (the Hon Mrs Bayliss).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association, this morning received Miss Daphne Davey (President).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Catch 22, this afternoon attended the annual Awards Ceremony at HSBC, 8 Canada Square, London E14, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended the Howard League for Penal Reform “Community Sentences Cut Crime” Conference and Awards, the King’s Fund, 11-13 Cavendish Square, London W1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, First World War Centenary Woods Project, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron-in-Chief, the Friends of St. Clement Danes, this morning received Air Commodore Paul Hughesdon upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman and Group Captain Mark Heffron upon assuming the appointment.

The Venerable Air Vice Marshal Raymond Pentland (President) was present.

His Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, 6th Battalion The Rifles, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Neville Holmes upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Harper upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of Gloucester this evening attended the “Seoul in the City” Concert for the City of London Festival at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London EC4.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary Freeman, the Worshipful Company of Drapers, this afternoon attended a Service to mark the Six Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Company in the Parish Church of St. Michael’s, Cornhill, London EC3, followed by a Reception at Drapers’ Hall, Throgmorton Avenue, London EC2.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this afternoon attended the First Degree Ceremonies at Guildford Cathedral, Stag Hill, Guildford, Surrey.
