Buckingham Palace

The Queen arrived at Buckingham Palace from Balmoral Castle this afternoon.

By command of Her Majesty, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr Ephraim Ngare at 45 Portland Place, London W1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as High Commissioner for the Republic of Kenya in London.

Clarence House

The Duchess of Rothesay this afternoon visited HMS Astute at Her Majesty’s Naval Base, Clyde, Faslane, Helensburgh, and received Commander Stephen Walker upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Commander Gareth Jenkins upon assuming the appointment.

Buckingham Palace

The Earl of Wessex, Honorary Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this morning attended an Education Committee Meeting at Haberdashers’ Hall, 18 West Smithfield, London EC1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, this afternoon attended a performance of Private Peacefulat the Ambassadors Theatre, West Street, London WC2.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, the University of Bath, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business (promoting The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award), this morning attended a Meeting at the offices of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Belgrave Road, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Grand President, St. John Ambulance in the Priory of England and the Islands, later attended a Presidents’ Workshop at St John’s Gate, St John’s Lane, Clerkenwell, London EC1.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal, Patron, Shipwrecked Fishermen and Mariners’ Royal Benevolent Society, today attended the Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Colonel, The Royal Scots Borderers, 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, this evening attended a Beating Retreat and Dinner at Palace Barracks, Holywood, North Down.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Royal Fellow, the Royal Academy of Engineering, this morning received Sir John Parker upon relinquishing his appointment as President and Dame Ann Dowling upon assuming the appointment.

Mr. Philip Greenish (Chief Executive) was present. His Royal Highness, Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England, today received Mr. Peter Lowndes (Pro Grand Master) and Mr. Jonathan Spence (Deputy Grand Master).
