The President of the Republic of Singapore and Mrs Tony Tan Keng Yam, accompanied by The Duke of York, this morning visited the Royal Society, Carlton House Terrace, London SW1, and were received by the President of the Royal Society (Sir Paul Nurse) and Dr Julie Maxton (Executive Director).
The President of the Royal Society addressed The President of the Republic of Singapore, before presenting the Royal Society’s King Charles II Medal to The President and His Excellency was pleased to reply.
The President and Mrs Tan, accompanied by His Royal Highness, afterwards viewed archive material relating to Singapore.
The President of the Republic of Singapore and Mrs Tony Tan Keng Yam, accompanied by The Duke of York, subsequently visited the United Kingdom Trade and Investment “Innovating Together” event at the Royal Society and were received by the Lord Livingston of Parkhead (Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Department of Business, Innovation and Skills).
The President this afternoon visited No. 10 Downing Street and had talks with the Prime Minister and subsequently was entertained to Luncheon by the Prime Minister on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government.
The President of the Republic of Singapore and Mrs Tony Tan Keng Yam afterwards visited the Singapore United Kingdom Association’s Deepavali Celebration in Kensington Church Street, London W8.
The Rt Hon Edward Miliband MP (Leader of the Opposition) later called upon The President.
The President of the Republic of Singapore and Mrs Tony Tan Keng Yam this evening received an Address of Welcome and were entertained at a Banquet by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor and the City of London Corporation at Guildhall.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.
The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry, today received Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Botsford upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Major General Andrew Farquhar upon relinquishing his appointment as Honorary Colonel.
The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Ms Jane Marriott (the Republic of Yemen), Mr Nicholas Hopton (the State of Qatar), Mr Andrew Patrick (the Union of Myanmar) and Ms Fiona Clouder (the Republic of Chile).
Mr Paul Lipscombe and Mrs Hopton were also received by Her Majesty.
The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Royal Mersey Yacht Club, this afternoon received Mr Trevor Tansey (Commodore).

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this morning met members of the Dumfries House Sewing Skills Steering Group at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.
His Royal Highness afterwards received Mr Dalton Philips (Chief Executive, Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc).
The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, President, the Great Steward of Scotland’s Dumfries House Trust, this evening held a Dinner for supporters at Dumfries House.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Centre, Peace Drive, Warrington.
The Countess of Wessex, President, afterwards visited the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children Service Centre at the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Centre.
Her Royal Highness, Patron, later visited the David Lewis Centre, Mill Lane, Warford, near Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

Her Royal Highness today attended the Commonwealth Agricultural Conference at the Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane.
The Princess Royal this evening attended a Reception at Government House, Paddington, given by the Governor of Queensland (the Hon Mr Paul de Jersey).
Her Royal Highness afterwards attended a Dinner at the Queensland Club, 19 George Street, Brisbane.
