COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Mrs Justice Laing, Mrs Justice McGowan, Mrs Justice Roberts and Ms. Justice Russell were received by The Queen this afternoon upon their appointment as Justices of the High Court when Her Majesty invested them with the Insignia of a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Mr Justice Davis, Mr Justice Dove, Mr Justice Edis, Mr Justice Goss, Mr Justice Knowles, Mr Justice Newton and Mr Justice Warby were received by The Queen upon their appointment as Justices of the High Court when Her Majesty conferred upon them the honour of Knighthood and invested them with the Insignia of a Knight Bachelor.

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, accompanied by Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy, Deputy Colonel-in-Chief, this evening attended a Reception for The Queen’s Royal Lancers at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1, and was received by the Colonel (Major General Patrick Marriott).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Field Marshal, this morning attended the Senior Serving and Retired Officers’ Briefing at the Army and Navy Club, 36-39 Pall Mall, London SW1.

The Duke of Edinburgh this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for the Anglo-Swedish Society to mark the Sixtieth Year of His Royal Highness’s Patronage.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited Edzná Archaeological Site, Campeche, Mexico.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Petenes Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, Campeche.

The Prince of Wales later visited a traditional Campechano Festival.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a round-table discussion on the energy sector in Mexico.

The Duke of York this morning visited the Orion Laser Facility at the Atomic Weapons Establishment, Aldermaston, Reading, Berkshire.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received the Lord Young of Graffham (the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Small Businesses and Enterprise).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, today undertook the following engagements in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

His Royal Highness this morning attended a Breakfast Meeting with Business and Award Supporters at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Art Gallery Road.

The Earl of Wessex later visited Ashfield Boys Schoolat the corner of Liverpool Road and Murrell Street, Ashcroft.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Lunch given by KPMG in Shirley Street to mark the Youth Research Launch.

The Earl of Wessex this evening attended a Competition Night held by the National Award Authority and the Powerhouse Museum at the Powerhouse Museum, Harris Street, Ultimo.

The Countess of Wessex, Patron, Dyslexia Action, this morning opened the Dyslexia Action Egham Learning Centre, 7 High Street, Egham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Dame Sarah Goad).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, Abbeydale Road South, Sheffield, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr. David Moody).

His Royal Highness later opened the newly renovated St. Luke’s Hospice, Little Common Lane, Sheffield.

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon opened the Emergency Department Resuscitation Room at Northern General Hospital, Herries Road, Sheffield.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Victorian Conservatory at Wentworth Castle, Lowe Lane, Barnsley.
