Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Sayakane Sisouvong was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Sisouvong was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Mr Abdurrahman Bilgiç was received in audience by The Queen and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Turkey to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Bilgiç was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

The Queen received His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma, Commonwealth Secretary-General.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Life Member, the British Sub-Aqua Club, this morning presented The Duke of Edinburgh Prize at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Companion Rat, the Grand Order of Water Rats, this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace to mark their One Hundred and Twenty Fifth Anniversary.

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment, received Lieutenant General Jonathan Page upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel Commandant and Lieutenant General John Lorimer upon assuming the appointment.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Dragoon Guards, received Brigadier EJ Torrens-Spence upon relinquishing his appointment as Regimental Colonel and Colonel Nicholas Millen upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this evening attended the Royal Variety Performance in aid of the Entertainment Artistes’ Benevolent Fund at the London Palladium, Argyll Street, London W1, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, WISE, this evening presented Awards at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, 45 Prescot Street, London E1, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).
