COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment (King’s, Lancashire and Border), today received Lieutenant Colonel Hamish Cormack upon his appointment as Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel John Lighten upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer, 4th Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Royce upon assuming the appointment.

Brigadier Peter Rafferty (Colonel) and Colonel Christopher Owen (Regimental Secretary) were present.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Ms Sarah Gillett (the Kingdom of Norway) and Ms Sara Price (the Republic of Finland).

Mr Simon McGrath was also received by Her Majesty.

The following were received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon their appointment as Governors: Ms Helen Kilpatrick (Cayman Islands) and Mr Peter Beckingham (Turks and Caicos Islands).

Mrs Beckingam was also received by Her Majesty.

Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, President, Fédération Equestre Internationale, was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Royal Highness presented Her Majesty with the Fédération’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mr Keith Taylor (President of the British National Equestrian Federation) was present.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St. James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Duke of Cambridge, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community, this afternoon held a Reception at Sandringham House for Mosaic mentors and supporters and presented the Princess Badiya Mentor of the Year Award.

His Royal Highness this evening received Dr Sasa Taing San (Founder, Hope and Health Society) and Dr Andrew Murray (Trustee).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, Colonel, Irish Guards, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Edward Boanas upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer and Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Turner upon assuming the appointment.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Royal Fellow, the Royal Society, this morning attended the Commonwealth Science Conference at the Lalit Ashok Hotel, Bangalore, India.

His Royal Highness afterwards attended a Meeting with Mr Narayana Murthy (Executive Chairman, Infosys Limited) at the Lalit Ashok Hotel.

The Duke of York this afternoon called upon the Governor of Karnataka (His Excellency Mr Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala) at Raj Bhavan, Bangalore.

Buckingham Palace

The Princess Royal this morning received Commander Stephen Ward RN upon assuming his appointment as Senior Naval Officer of HMS Albion.

Her Royal Highness, President, Racing Welfare, afterwards attended the Board of Trustees’ Annual General Meeting and Luncheon at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1.

The Princess Royal, President, the English Speaking Union of the Commonwealth, this afternoon attended a Secondary School Exchange Thanksgiving Reception at Dartmouth House, 37 Charles Street, London W1, and was received by Mrs. Clare Whelan (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Hornet Services Sailing Club, later received Commodore Peter Melson RN upon relinquishing his appointment as Commodore and Commodore Peter Wykeham-Martin RN upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, University of London, this evening held the Annual Foundation Day Ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, President, today chaired the panel of judges for the British Expertise International Awards at 10 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent this morning officially opened the new research and development building at Sika Limited, Sika House, Miller Street, Preston, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire (the Lord Shuttleworth).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited exhibitions at Clitheroe Castle, Lancashire, marking the Centenary of the First World War.

The Duke of Kent, President, the Scout Association, this evening attended the West Lancashire Scout Reception at the Harris Museum, Market Square, Preston, Lancashire.
