COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

Ms Nicola Sturgeon MSP was received in audience by The Queen this afternoon on her appointment as First Minister of the Scottish Government.

The Queen held a Council at 5.45pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon William Hague MP (Leader of the House of Commons), the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP (Secretary of State for Health), the Rt Hon Theresa May MP (Secretary of State for the Home Department), the Rt Hon Nicola Morgan MP (Secretary of State for Education) and the Baroness Stowell of Beeston (Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal).

The Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP made affirmation as a member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Nicholas Clegg MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.

The Prince of Wales, Chairman, the Royal Collection Trust, this morning chaired a Meeting of the Trustees.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Teaching Institute, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Sun Military Awards Ceremony at the National Maritime Museum, Romney Road, London SE10, and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir David Brewer).

The Duchess of Cornwall, Honorary Member, National Association of Care Catering, this morning met Hertfordshire Community Meals volunteers and guests attending a Christmas Luncheon for older people at the Jubilee Centre, Catherine Street, St Albans, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire (the Countess of Verulam).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Emmaus UK, afterwards visited Emmaus St Albans, Hill End Lane, St Albans.

Kensington Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this morning arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from the United States of America.

Sir David Manning, Mr Miguel Head, Miss Rebecca Deacon and Mr Nicholas Loughran were in attendance.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Admiral, the Sea Cadet Corps, this morning received Mr Martin Coles (Chief Executive Officer, the Marine Society and Sea Cadets) and Captain Jonathan Holloway RN (Captain, Sea Cadets).

His Royal Highness received a presentation on the Information Economy Council’s Scale Up Report on United Kingdom Economic Growth by Mrs. Sherry Coutu.

The Duke of York, Patron, Studio Schools, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace for the Studio Schools Trust.

His Royal Highness later receive Mr Christoph Loch (Director, University of Cambridge Judge Business School) and Mrs Hanadi Jabado (Director of Accelerate Cambridge).

The Duke of York, Patron, this evening attended a Reception for Nominet Trust supporters at the Trampery, 239 Old Street, London EC1.

The Earl of Wessex, Chancellor, this morning attended a Degree Congregation Ceremony at the Assembly Rooms, Bath, Somerset.

The Countess of Wessex, President, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, this afternoon attended a Reception for WeProtect Summit 2014 at Lancaster House, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Childline, this evening attended Carols by Candlelight at Christ Church Spitalfields, Commercial Street, London E1.

The Princess Royal, President, Mission to Seafarers Limited, this evening attended the Annual Carol Service in St. Michael Paternoster Royal, College Hill, London EC4, followed by a Reception at Skinners’ Hall, 8 Downgate Hill, London EC4.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Patron, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, this morning attended a Graduation Ceremony at King Charles Court, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London SE10.

Thatched House Lodge, Richmond Park

Princess Alexandra, Patron, this afternoon visited St. Christopher’s Hospice, 51-59 Lawrie Park Road, London SE26.
