Buckingham Palace

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this afternoon attended the Commonwealth Day Observance Service in Westminster Abbey and was received by the Dean of Westminster (the Very Reverend Dr. John Hall) and the Chairman of the Council of Commonwealth Societies (the Lord Howell of Guildford).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also present.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, was present this evening at a Reception given by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma) at Marlborough House.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received the Lord Marland (Chairman, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council).

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended a Reception given by the Ambassador from the United States of America in London (His Excellency Mr. Matthew Barzun) at the Residence, Winfield House, Regent’s Park, London NW1, to mark Their Royal Highnesses’ forthcoming visit to the United States of America.

The Duke of York this morning met local employers and apprentices participating in Ladder For Shropshire at the head office of the Shropshire Star, Waterloo Road, Ketley, Telford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire (Sir Algernon Heber-Percy).

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Briefing and Lunch at Bentley Motors, Pyms Lane, Crewe, Cheshire.

The Princess Royal, President, Victim Support, this morning visited the Rebuild Restorative Justice Project team at Stanford House, 19 Castle Gate, Nottingham, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire (Sir John Peace).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Sports Coach UK, this afternoon attended a “Women Coaches into High Performance” Workshop at Loughborough University and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire (Jennifer, Lady Gretton).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Acid Survivors Trust International, this evening attended a Reception at the Household Cavalry Museum, Horse Guards, Whitehall, London SW1.

Her Royal Highness, Royal Patron, London Scottish Football Club, afterwards attended a Dinner at Watches of Switzerland, 155 Regent Street, London W1.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Army Medical Corps, this morning received Brigadier Peter Fabricius upon assuming his appointment as Representative Colonel Commandant.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Habitat for Humanity Great Britain, this afternoon received Mr. Stewart Baseley (Chairman).

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Leicester Cathedral’s King Richard III Appeal, this evening attended a Dinner in London.
