Windsor Castle
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this morning arrived at Sheffield Railway Station and were received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (Mr David Moody).
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness drove to Sheffield Cathedral and were received at the Great Door by the Bishop of Sheffield (the Right Reverend Steven Croft), the Dean (the Very Reverend Peter Bradley) and the Residentiary Canons.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attended the Maundy Service at which Her Majesty distributed the Royal Maundy.
The Right Reverend Dr John Inge (Lord High Almoner) and the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Almoner) were present.
The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.
Her Majesty and His Royal Highness this afternoon joined representatives of the Chapter, the Diocese and the Royal Almonry at Sheffield Town Hall and were received by the Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council (Mr John Mothersole).
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were subsequently entertained to Luncheon in the Town Hall by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield (Councillor Peter Rippon).
Buckingham Palace
The Princess Royal, President, Royal Yachting Association, this afternoon attended the British Universities and Colleges Sport Yachting Championships at Portsmouth Harbour Yacht Club, the Port House, Port Solent, Portsmouth, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).
