COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Queen’s Royal Lancers, this afternoon arrived at Richmond Castle to attend the Amalgamation Parade of The Queen’s Royal Lancers and 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s) to form The Royal Lancers, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mr Barry Dodd), the Colonel, The Queen’s Royal Lancers (Major General Patrick Marriott), the Colonel, 9th/12th Royal Lancers, Prince of Wales’s (Major General James Short) and the Colonel, The Royal Lancers (Brigadier Andrew Hughes).

Her Majesty was received with a Royal Salute and inspected the two Regiments.

The Queen subsequently attended the Amalgamation Service, conducted by the Chaplain General to Her Majesty’s Land Forces (the Reverend Dr David Coulter), during which the flags of The Queen’s Royal Lancers and 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s) were lowered and the flag of The Royal Lancers was raised.

Her Majesty was graciously pleased to address The Royal Lancers and the Colonel of the Regiment replied.

The Queen witnessed a fly-past by Hawks from 100 Squadron, Royal Air Force Leeming.

The Royal Lancers then marched past Her Majesty.

The Queen afterwards attended a Reception in the Marquee.

Kensington Palace

The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34 a.m. today.

Her Royal Highness and her child are both well.

The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s), this afternoon attended a Reception in the Town Hall, Richmond, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mr Barry Dodd).

His Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s), afterwards attended the Amalgamation Parade of The Queen’s Royal Lancers and 9th/12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales’s) to form The Royal Lancers, at Richmond Castle.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, this morning presented new Colours to the 5th Batallion at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland.
