Buckingham Palace

The Rt Hon David Cameron (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon on the conclusion of the coalition government, during which Mr Cameron informed Her Majesty of his willingness to continue his commission as Prime Minister.

Mrs Cameron was also received by The Queen.

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, this evening lit the first of a series of beacons to mark the Seventieth Anniversary of Victory in Europe at Windsor Castle and was received by the Deputy Ranger of Windsor Great Park (Mr Paul Sedgwick), Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley), the National Chairman of the Royal British Legion (Mr John Crisford), the Beacon Event Organiser (Mr Bruno Peek) and the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (Councillor Richard Kellaway).

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall this morning opened Poundbury Cancer Institute, Newborough House, Queen Mother Square, Poundbury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset (Mr Angus Campbell).

His Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon opened the Guinness Partnership’s Two Hundred and Fiftieth House at Poundbury.

The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall later attended a Reception for Women in Rural Enterprise, Brownsword Hall, Poundbury.

The Duke of York, on behalf of The Queen, this afternoon laid a wreath at the Cenotaph to commemorate the Seventieth Anniversary of Victory in Europe.

The Earl of Wessex this evening arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from the United States of America.

Mr Timothy Roberts was in attendance.
