Mr Charles Mackay was received by The Queen today upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman of Historic Royal Palaces.
The following were received by The Queen this afternoon on their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Denis Keefe (the Republic of Serbia), Mr Paul Brummell (Romania) and Mrs Christine Hayes (the Portuguese Republic).
Mrs Keefe, Mrs Brummell and Dr Peter Hayes were also received by Her Majesty.
Mrs Victoria Treadell was received by The Queen on her appointment as British High Commissioner to Malaysia.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.
The Duke of York, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy were present.
Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.
The Bands of the Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Royal Artillery played selections of music during the afternoon.
The Rt Hon David Cameron (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended a performance celebrating the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the birth of WB Yeats, viewed the Niland Collection and attended a Reception at the Model, the Mall, Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland.
The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the Institute of Technology, Sligo, Ash Lane, Sligo.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended an Ecumenical Service of Peace and Reconciliation in St Columba’s Church, Drumcliffe, County Sligo.
Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Classiebawn Castle, County Sligo.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall subsequently visited Mullaghmore, County Sligo, and met members of the local community.
