Buckingham Palace

Mr Charles Mackay was received by The Queen today upon relinquishing his appointment as Chairman of Historic Royal Palaces.

The following were received by The Queen this afternoon on their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Denis Keefe (the Republic of Serbia), Mr Paul Brummell (Romania) and Mrs Christine Hayes (the Portuguese Republic).

Mrs Keefe, Mrs Brummell and Dr Peter Hayes were also received by Her Majesty.

Mrs Victoria Treadell was received by The Queen on her appointment as British High Commissioner to Malaysia.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of York, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy were present.

Her Majesty’s Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen-at-Arms and The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard were on duty.

The Bands of the Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Royal Artillery played selections of music during the afternoon.

The Rt Hon David Cameron (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended a performance celebrating the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the birth of WB Yeats, viewed the Niland Collection and attended a Reception at the Model, the Mall, Sligo, County Sligo, Ireland.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon visited the Institute of Technology, Sligo, Ash Lane, Sligo.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall later attended an Ecumenical Service of Peace and Reconciliation in St Columba’s Church, Drumcliffe, County Sligo.

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited Classiebawn Castle, County Sligo.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall subsequently visited Mullaghmore, County Sligo, and met members of the local community.

Their Royal Highnesses this evening visited Sligo Racecourse.

The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited Lissadell House, Ballinfull, County Sligo.

The Duke of Cambridge, President, the Football Association, this morning visited the Women’s World Cup team at St George’s Park, Newborough Road, Needwood, Burton upon Trent, and was received by Colonel Michael Beatty (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire).

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York, Patron, Fly Navy Heritage Trust, this morning received Rear Admiral Thomas Cunningham (Chairman) and Mr John Longworth-Krafft (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness, Patron, this afternoon gave a Lunch at Buckingham Palace for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Duke of York later attended the Salesforce London Partner Forum at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel, 10 Godliman Street, London EC4.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Royal Society for Asian Affairs, this evening attended a Dinner at the Royal Horseguards Hotel, Whitehall, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Liveryman, the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, this morning opened the Humanities Centre at Adams’ Grammar School, High Street, Newport, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire (Sir Algernon Heber-Percy).

His Royal Highness, this afternoon visited Ellesmere Port Sports Village, Stanney Lane, Ellesmere Port, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire (Mr David Briggs).

The Earl of Wessex later visited the University of Chester to mark the Celebration of One Hundred and Seventy Five years of higher education in Chester, Parkgate Road, Chester, Cheshire.

The Countess of Wessex, Chairman, Women in Business Group, this morning attended a Breakfast Meeting at the Bellevue Restaurant, Prague, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic (Her Excellency Miss Jan Thompson).

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later called upon the Minister of Education (Mr. Marcel Chladek) at the Ministry of Education, Karmelitska, Prague.

The Countess of Wessex, Global Ambassador, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, afterwards attended the World Fellowship and British Chamber of Commerce Fashion Events at Klara Nademlynska’s Boutique, Dlouhá, and Tatiana Kovarikova’s Boutique, Dusní, Prague.

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, this afternoon attended a Reception for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague.

The Countess of Wessex this evening arrived at Heathrow Airport, London, from the Czech Republic.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, this afternoon opened the new Harrow Citizens Advice Bureau, Civic 9, Station Road, Harrow, Middlesex, and was received by Mr John Purnell (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Princess Royal, President, the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures And Commerce, this evening attended the President’s Lecture and Dinner at 8 John Adam Street, London WC2.

The Duke of Gloucester today carried out the following engagements in São Paulo, Brazil.

His Royal Highness this morning visited Associacao de Assistence a Crianca Deficiente (Association for Assistance to Deficient Children), Rua Borges Lagoa, 1451, Villa Mariana.

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon attended a Luncheon with Members of the British Chamber of Commerce at Terraço Itália, Avenida Ipiranga 344, Republica.
