Buckingham Palace

The Queen today received the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich (the Right Reverend Martin Seeley) who did homage upon his appointment.

Her Majesty received the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham (the Right Reverend Paul Williams) who did homage upon his appointment.

The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oath.

The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Welsh, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Shon Hockney upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 1st Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Paul Clayton upon assuming the appointment.

Her Majesty received Lieutenant Colonel Robert Manuel upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer 3rd Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Nigel Crew-Read upon assuming the appointment.

The Rt Hon David Cameron (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, today attended Receptions at St James’s Palace for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The Duchess of Cornwall held an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace to mark the Centenary of the National Federation of Women’s Institutes of England, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Bands of the Royal Marines Collingwood and the Irish Guards played selections of music during the afternoon

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Injured Jockeys Fund, this afternoon opened Jack Berry House, Old Malton Road, Malton, and was received by Mr Peter Scrope (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire).
