Buckingham Palace
The Queen, accompanied by The Princess Royal and The Countess of Wessex, this morning attended the Centenary Annual General Meeting of the National Federation of Women’s Institutes at the Royal Albert Hall, London SW7, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa), the Chairperson (Mrs Janice Langley) and Mrs Jana Osborne (General Secretary).
Her Majesty, accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses, received the Centenary Baton and viewed a film of its journey around the United Kingdom, before declaring the Meeting open.
Prince Henry of Wales was received by The Queen this afternoon when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.
The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, Royal Southern Yacht Club, this afternoon opened The Prince Philip Yacht Haven, Rope Walk, Hamble, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr Nigel Atkinson).
His Royal Highness, Admiral and Member, Royal Yacht Squadron, this evening attended a Reception onboard HMS Northumberland near Cowes to mark the Squadron’s Bicentenary and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight (Major General Martin White).

The Prince of Wales, President, Business in the Community and The Prince’s Trust, was represented by the Earl of Rosslyn (Master of the Household) at the Memorial Service for Lord Sheppard of Didgemere (previously Chairman of Business in the Community and of The Prince’s Council) which was held in The Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy, London WC2, this morning.

Prince Henry of Wales, Patron, Sentebale, this morning took part in the Oil Aid Football Tournament at Chelsea Football Club, Stamford Bridge, London SW6.

The Duke of York this morning attended the Founder’s Day Parade at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London SW3.
His Royal Highness, Patron, British Combined Services Dhaulagiri Medical Research Expedition, this afternoon received Major General Martin Smith and Surgeon Commander Adrian Mellor RN.
The Duke of York, Grand Master, the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, later received Ms Dorothy Saul-Pooley upon relinquishing her appointment as Master and Mr Christopher Ford upon assuming the appointment.
His Royal Highness, Patron-in-Chief, British Exploring Society, this evening held a Reception at St James’s Palace.

The Countess of Wessex, representing The Queen, was present at an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace to celebrate the Centenary of Blind Veterans UK, of which Her Majesty is Patron.
The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.
The Bands of the Coldstream Guards and Queen’s Division played selections of music during the afternoon.

Her Royal Highness, President, Edith Cavell Centenary Appeal, this afternoon attended a Reception at the Royal College of Physicians, 11 St Andrew’s Place, London NW1, and was received by Sir Ian Johnston (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).
The Princess Royal, Patron, Hearing Link, afterwards attended a Reception in the New Armouries, HM Tower of London.

The Duke of Kent, Royal Fellow, this evening attended the Royal Academy of Engineering Annual Summer Soirée and Exhibition at Babcock International Group Plc, Rosyth Royal Dockyard, Fife.
