Buckingham Palace

His Excellency Mr Kittiphong na Ranong was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Kingdom of Thailand to the Court of St James’s.

Sir Simon Fraser (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

General Sir Nicholas Houghton (Chief of the Defence Staff) was received by Her Majesty.

The Baroness Jolly, the Baroness Garden of Frognal and the Baroness Williams of Trafford were received by The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing their appointments as Baronesses in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Lord Popat and the Lord Wallace of Saltaire were received by The Queen and took leave upon relinquishing their appointments as Lords in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Baroness Chisholm of Owlpen and the Baroness Evans of Bowes Park were received by The Queen upon their appointments as Baronesses in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Earl of Courtown and the Viscount Younger of Leckie were received by The Queen upon their appointments as Lords in Waiting to Her Majesty.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended the Gurkha 200 Reception and Pageant at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3, and were received by the Governor (General Sir Redmond Watt) and the Chairman of Gurkha Welfare Trust (General Sir Peter Wall).

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales this morning opened the Bekynton Field Development at Eton College, Windsor, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr James Puxley).

His Royal Highness, President, this afternoon held a Meeting with The Prince’s Teaching Institute.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Gurkha Welfare Trust, this evening attended the Gurkha 200 Pageant and Dinner at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning unveiled a stained glass window to commemorate the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Death of Sir Winston Churchill at the Parish Church of St Martin, Church Street, Bladon, Woodstock, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr Timothy Stevenson).

Her Royal Highness afterwards opened Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Garden and attended a Lunch at Blenheim Palace, Woodstock.

Prince Henry of Wales this evening attended the Gurkha 200 Pageant and Dinner at Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3.

The Duke of York this morning visited Seven Hills, 33-35 Point Pleasant, London SW18.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received the Lord Maude of Horsham (Minister of State for Trade and Investment).

The Duke of York received Mr Lucian Grainge (Chairman, Universal Music Group).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, this morning attended a Trustees’ Meeting and Nominations Committee Meeting at Gulliver House, Madeira Walk, Windsor, Berkshire.

The Countess of Wessex, this morning visited Hopes Auction Mart Limited, Syke Road, Wigton, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Mrs Peter Hensman).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited Threlkeld Village Hall, Station Road, Threlkeld, Cumbria.

The Countess of Wessex this afternoon visited John Chapman Limited, Tannery Road, Harraby Green Business Park, Carlisle, Cumbria.

Her Royal Highness later visited Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice, Durdar Road, Carlisle.

The Princess Royal, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this morning attended the Fortieth Anniversary celebrations of Riding for the Disabled Carriage Driving at the Unicorn Trust Equestrian Centre, Netherswell, Stow-on-the-Wold, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (Dame Janet Trotter).

Her Royal Highness, President, Riding for the Disabled Association, this afternoon visited Talland Riding for the Disabled Association, Talland School of Equitation, Dairy Farm, Ampney Knole, Cirencester, to mark its Fiftieth Anniversary and was received by Mr Edward Gillespie (Deputy Lieutenant of Gloucestershire).

The Princess Royal, President, British Olympic Association, later received Mr Boris Johnson (Mayor of London) Sir William Castell (Chairman, Foundation for FutureLondon) and Mr Neale Coleman (Chairman, London Legacy Development Corporation).

Her Royal Highness, President, Save the Children UK, this evening attended the Summer in the City Tenth Anniversary Dinner at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, London SW7.

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, International Council on Monuments and Sites — UK, this evening attended a Concert in aid of the International Trust for Croatian Monuments at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, Sloane Street, London SW1.
