COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The Queen today received a representative party from The Royal Gurkha Rifles who presented The Queen’s Truncheon for Her Majesty’s inspection.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Gurkha Rifles, was present.

The Lord Peel (Lord Chamberlain) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon and presented an Address from the House of Lords to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Stephen Crabb MP (Secretary of State for Wales), the Rt Hon Mark Francois MP (Minister of State for Communities and Local Government) and the Rt Hon Nicola Morgan MP (Secretary of State for Education).

The Rt Hon Mark Field MP, the Rt Hon David Heath, the Rt Hon Charles Hendry, the Rt Hon Anne Milton MP and the Rt Hon Keith Simpson MP were sworn in as members of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council.

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP had an audience of The Queen before the Council.

The Queen was represented by Mr Kristan Hopkins MP (Vice-Chamberlain of the Household) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of the Sir Sydney Chapman (formerly Vice-Chamberlain of the Household) which was held in St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey, London SW1, today.

Today is the Ninety Fourth Anniversary of the Birthday of The Duke of Edinburgh.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Patron, Turquoise Mountain Foundation, this morning received Dr Thalia Kennedy (Director) and Ms Shoshana Clark Stewart (Chief Executive).

His Royal Highness received Mr Ian King (Chief Executive, BAe Systems).

The Prince of Wales this afternoon received the Canadian and United Kingdom recipients of The Prince of Wales’s Forest Leadership Awards.

The Prince of Wales, Patron, the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon gave a Tea for Veterans at Clarence House.

The Duchess of Cornwall, President, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, this afternoon attended the Arts Antiques London “Party in the Park” in Hyde Park, London.

Kensington Palace

Prince Henry of Wales, Honorary President, England Rugby 2015, this morning attended the launch of the Web Ellis Trophy Tour marking One Hundred Days until the Rugby World Cup, Twickenham Stadium, Middlesex.

Buckingham Palace

The Duke of York this morning visited Gravity Road, 31 Great Marlborough Street, London W1.

His Royal Highness, Patron, Whitgift School, attended a Lunch at the Walbrook Club, 37a Walbrook, London EC4.

The Duke of York this afternoon received Mr Morad Fareed (Co-founder, Delos Living)

His Royal Highness, Member of the Advisory Board, Royal United Services Institute, later held an Afternoon Tea for visiting Qatari students.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Townswomen’s Guilds, this morning attended the Annual General Meeting at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 2 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow (Councillor Sadie Docherty, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, International Students House, this afternoon attended the Fiftieth Anniversary Garden Party, Park Crescent Gardens, London W1.

The Princess Royal, Warden, the Fishmongers’ Company, this evening attended a Dinner at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, London EC4.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Patron, and The Duchess of Gloucester this evening attended a Reception to mark the new presentation of the Waddesdon Bequest at the British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1.

The Duchess of Gloucester this afternoon opened an extension to the Day Care Centre at St Elizabeth Hospice, 565 Foxhall Road, Ipswich, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Suffolk (the Countess of Euston).

Her Royal Highness afterwards visited the Seckford Foundation at the Abbey School, Church Street, Woodbridge, and St. Mary’s Church, 11 Market Hill, Woodbridge, to mark the Quincentenary of the birth of Thomas Seckford.

The Duke of Kent, Colonel, this morning attended the Scots Guards Council Meeting at Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1.
