Buckingham Palace

The Queen this morning arrived at Cardiff Central Railway Station and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan (Dr Peter Beck), the Rt Hon Carwyn Jones AM (First Minister of Wales) and the Lord Mayor of the City of Cardiff (Councillor David Walker).

The Queen, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Welsh, drove to Millennium Stadium and was received by the Colonel of the Regiment (Brigadier Philip Napier) and the President of Welsh Rugby Union (Mr Dennis Gethin).

Her Majesty was received on Parade with a Royal Salute and inspected the Regiment.

After the Colours were consecrated, The Queen presented the new Colours to The Royal Welsh.

Her Majesty was graciously pleased to address the Regiment and the Colonel of the Regiment replied.

The Parade marched past The Queen.

Later The Queen attended a Reception for Soldiers and their families and subsequently was entertained to Luncheon by the Regiment.

His Royal Highness, President, Royal Drawing School, afterwards held a Meeting.

The Prince of Wales this afternoon attended a Reception to mark the One Hundred and Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the Royal Warrant Holders’ Association at St James’s Palace.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince’s Trust and Prince’s Trust International, this afternoon held a Meeting.

The Prince of Wales this evening received the Grand Imam of al Azhar.

The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Coventry were present.

His Royal Highness, President, this evening gave a Dinner for the Royal Drawing School at Buckingham Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Jamie’s Farm, this morning visited Oasis Farm Waterloo, Carlisle Street, London SE1, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).

Her Royal Highness, Joint President, the Elephant Family, afterwards unveiled “Tara”, a model elephant, to launch Elephant Story-Time, Duke of York Square, London SW3

The Duchess of Cornwall this evening attended the Household Division Ceremony of Beating Retreat on Horse Guards Parade, London SW1.

The Duke of Cambridge this evening attended a Reception to mark the Twenty Fifth Anniversary of Jewish Care at Alexandra Palace, London N22, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Mr Kenneth Olisa).

Prince Henry of Wales today attended the Camp Bastion Memorial Dedication Service at the National Memorial Arboretum, Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Not Forgotten Association, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, held an Afternoon Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace.

The Queen’s Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard was on duty.

The Band of the Royal Marines Portsmouth played selections of music during the afternoon.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning opened Viridor Ardley Energy Recovery Facility, Ardley Farmlands, Ardley, and was received by Mr John Harwood (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire).

His Royal Highness this afternoon visited Bicester Green, Unit 2, Mckay Trading Estate, Station Approach, Bicester, Oxfordshire.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards visited Bicester Heritage, Buckingham Road, Bicester.

His Royal Highness later attended a British Empire Medal Presentation Ceremony at Bodicote House, Banbury, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mr Timothy Stevenson).

Princess Alexandra, Deputy President, the British Red Cross Society, this afternoon received Mrs Maryanne Burton and presented her with The Queen’s Badge of Honour.
