COURT CIRCULAR

Buckingham Palace

The President of the Republic of Kosovo visited The Queen today.

The following were received in audience by The Queen this afternoon and kissed hands upon their appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassadors: Mr Anwar Choudhury (the Republic of Peru) and Mr Simon Martin (the Kingdom of Bahrain).

Mrs Choudhury and Ms Sophie Pike were also received by Her Majesty.

The following were received in audience by The Queen upon their appointment as British High Commissioners: Mr Jonathan Benjamin (the Republic of Ghana) and Mr Jonathan Sinclair (New Zealand).

Mrs Vasquez and Mrs Sinclair were also received by Her Majesty.

The Queen held a Council at 5.30pm.

There were present: the Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP (Lord President), the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP (Secretary of State for Transport), the Baroness Stowell of Beeston (Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords) and the Rt Hon John Whittingdale MP (Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport).

Mr Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The Rt Hon Christopher Grayling MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

The Rt Hon David Cameron MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this evening.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Air Commodore, Royal Air Force Northolt, today received Group Captain Andrew Bacon upon relinquishing his appointment as Station Commander and Group Captain David Manning upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Patron, the Royal Institute of Navigation, this afternoon presented prizes and awards at the Institute’s Annual General Meeting, the Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London SW7.

Clarence House

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Toronto Scottish Regiment (Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s Own), this morning received Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Moore (Commanding Officer), Chief Warrant Officer Nicholas Webb (Regimental Sergeant Major), Colonel Gilbert Taylor (Honorary Colonel) and Lieutenant Colonel Donald Fisher (Deputy Colonel).

His Royal Highness afterwards held a Meeting with representatives from the Crown Estate.

The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, this afternoon gave a Reception to mark the Centenary of The Toronto Scottish Regiment (Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s Own) at Clarence House.

His Royal Highness later received Mrs Amanda Sherrington (Chief Executive, The Prince’s Charities Canada).

The Prince of Wales received His Excellency the Hon. Alexander Downer (High Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Australia) and the Rt Hon Sir Lockwood Smith (High Commissioner for New Zealand).

His Royal Highness, Patron, this evening gave a Reception for the Guinness Partnership at St James’s Palace.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited St. Peter’s Eaton Square Church of England Primary School, Lower Belgrave Street, London SW1, and was received by Dr Paul Knapman (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Royal Highness, Commodore-in-Chief, Naval Chaplaincy Service, this later received the Reverend Scott Brown upon relinquishing his appointment as Chaplain of the Fleet.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron, Booktrust, received Mrs Valerie Bird upon relinquishing her appointment as Chairman and Ms Diana Gerald upon assuming the appointment.

The Duke of York, Fellow, the Royal Society, received Professor C Rao (Head of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India) and Professor Anthony Cheetham (Treasurer and Vice President of the Royal Society).

The Princess Royal, President, Victim Support Scotland, this morning presented long service awards, Abbey House, 10 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, and was received by Mr John Chapman (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened a new-build housing development at Summerlee Street, Coatbridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Lanarkshire (Mr Mushtaq Ahmed).

The Princess Royal, Patron, Institution of Civil Engineers Charity Appeal, this evening held a Shaping the World Dinner at Buckingham Palace.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Royal Patron, the British Museum, this morning received Mr Richard Lambert (Chairman).

His Royal Highness, Vice Royal Patron, the Almshouse Association, this afternoon presented the Patron’s Awards at Mercers’ Hall, Ironmonger Lane, London EC2.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Lawn Tennis Association, this evening attended the Davis Cup Tie Dinner at the Queen’s Club, Palliser Road, London W14.

St James’s Palace

The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, University of Surrey, this afternoon attended the First Degree Ceremonies at Guildford Cathedral, Surrey.

Buckingham Palace

Princess Alexandra this afternoon opened the Field of Remembrance in St Cuthbert’s Church Graveyard, Blackfriars Street, Carlisle, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cumbria (Mrs Peter Hensman).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the King’s Own Border Regiment Museum, later opened Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life, the Castle, Carlisle.

Princess Alexandra subsequently visited Linton Tweeds, Shaddon Mills, Shaddongate, Carlisle.
