Mr Edward Young was received by The Queen this morning when Her Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

His Excellency Mr Carlos Abad Ortiz was received in audience by The Queen today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Ecuador to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Patricia Cornejo was also received by Her Majesty.

His Excellency Dr Salih Husain Ali was received in audience by The Queen this afternoon and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Iraq to the Court of St James’s.

Mrs Khawlah Abbas Muttair was also received by Her Majesty.

Sir Simon McDonald (Permanent Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) was present.

Miss Barbara Woodward was received in audience by The Queen and kissed hands upon her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Honorary Life Member, the British Sub-Aqua Club, this morning presented The Duke of Edinburgh Prize at Buckingham Palace.

His Royal Highness, Patron, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, this afternoon held a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Member, the Blue Seal Club, this evening attended a Dinner at the Cavalry and Guards Club, 127 Piccadilly, London W1.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre, Rape Crisis South London, Croydon, Surrey, to mark its Thirtieth Anniversary.

Her Royal Highness later visited the Nelsons Manufacturing Facility, 5-9 Endeavour Way, Wimbledon, London SW19, and met volunteers involved in an initiative to support the victims of rape and sexual abuse.

The Duchess of Cornwall afterwards visited the Haven (Whitechapel) Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Brady Street, London E1.

The Earl of Wessex this morning departed from Farnborough Airport, Hampshire, for Turkey and was received later on arrival at Ataturk Airport, Istanbul, by Her Majesty’s Consul-General (Mr Leigh Turner).

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this afternoon attended a Reception at the British Consulate in Istanbul for young people who have achieved the Gold Standard in the Award and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey (His Excellency Mr Richard Moore).

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this evening attended a Dinner.
