Buckingham Palace

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, today opened the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Surrey, Guildford, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey (Mr Michael More-Molyneux), the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey (Professor Michael Kearney), Professor Chris Proudman (Head of the School of Veterinary Medicine), Professor Lisa Roberts (Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences) and the Mayor of Guildford (Councillor Nikki Nelson-Smith).

Her Majesty, escorted by the Vice-Chancellor, and His Royal Highness, escorted by the Head of the School of Veterinary Medicine, visited the Large Animals Clinical Skills Building, viewing animals in the equine examination area, stables and livestock pens and meeting students and members of staff working with skeleton models.

The Queen, escorted by the Dean, and The Duke of Edinburgh, escorted by the Head of the School of Veterinary Medicine, toured the Biomechanics and Clinical Skills Laboratories in the Veterinary Medicine Main Building, viewing equipment and a teaching session and meeting students and staff working with animals.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning received Mr James Chanos (Washington Oxi Day Foundation) and accepted the Metropolitan Chrysostomos Award on behalf of His Royal Highness’s late mother, Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark.

His Royal Highness, Patron and Twelfth Man, the Lord’s Taverners, this afternoon presented County Cricket Championship medals at Buckingham Palace.

The Duke of Edinburgh, President and Honorary Life Member, the In and Out Naval and Military Club, this evening attended the Trafalgar Dinner, 4 St James’s Square, London SW1.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this morning attended a Duchy of Cornwall briefing.

His Royal Highness this afternoon received representatives of Aid to the Church in Need.

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning held a Reception on behalf of Her Majesty for The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition at Buckingham Palace and presented prizes.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, this evening attended the British Equestrian Federation Owners’ Day Reception at Hyde Park Barracks, London SW7.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Cambridge, this afternoon opened the Archive Centre, School of Pythagoras at St John’s College Cambridge and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Sir Hugh Duberly).

His Royal Highness, Royal Patron, this evening attended a Gala Dinner to mark the Twenty First Anniversary of Child Bereavement UK at Banqueting House, Whitehall, London SW1.

The Duke of York this morning received Mr Andrew Coombes (Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire).

His Royal Highness later held a Meeting for Entrepreneurs from the King Abdullah Economic City.

The Duke of York this afternoon received participants from the UK-Qatar Sharaka.

His Royal Highness, Fellow, the Royal Society, this evening attended the Royal Medals Presentation at the Royal Society, 6-9 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1.

The Earl of Wessex, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, this morning visited the National School Darüşşafaka, Istanbul, and was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey (His Excellency Mr Richard Moore).

His Royal Highness, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, later attended a Lunch on board Sinan Bey 2 on the Bosphorus Straits, Istanbul.

The Princess Royal, President, Save the Children United Kingdom, this morning attended the Scottish Volunteer Annual Conference at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Donald Wilson, the Rt Hon the Lord Provost).

Her Royal Highness, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this afternoon opened the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures, 50 George Square, and subsequently opened the Jex Blake Suite at the Medical Education Centre, the Chancellor’s Building, College of Medicine, 49 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, attended an Honorary Graduation Ceremony at the University of Edinburgh.

Her Royal Highness, Vice President, Royal Scottish Geographical Society, later presented the Scottish Geographical Medal at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Princess Royal, Royal Patron, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, this evening delivered the Tribal Elder Lecture at Edinburgh Zoo, 134 Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh.
