The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Lord Fellowes (Secretary and Registrar of the Order of Merit) at the Memorial Commemoration for Professor Martin West OM which was held in the Codrington Library, All Souls College, Oxford.
The Duke of Edinburgh attended the first Semi Final of the Rugby World Cup (South Africa versus New Zealand) at Twickenham Stadium, Middlesex.

The Duchess of Gloucester today carried out the following engagements in Bermuda and was received by the Governor and Commander-in-Chief (His Excellency Mr George Fergusson).
Her Royal Highness this morning visited Dockyard Glassworks, 19 Maritime Lane, Royal Naval Dockyard, Sandys.
The Duchess of Gloucester afterwards toured the Thirty Fifth America’s Cup Team facilities at 5 Freeport Road, Sandys.
Her Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Luncheon given by the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Bermuda at Government House, 11 Langton Hill, Pembroke.
The Duchess of Gloucester later attended presentations by the Family Centre, followed by Saving Children and Revealing Secrets at 25 Point Finger Road, Paget.
Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Bermuda Regiment, afterwards received Lieutenant Colonel Michael Foster-Brown (Commanding Officer) at Government House.
The Duchess of Gloucester, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Bermuda Regiment, this evening attended a Reception given by the Royal Bermuda Regiment Charitable Trust at Commissioner’s House, the Keep, National Museum of Bermuda, Maritime Lane, Royal Naval Dockyard, and subsequently took the salute at the Bermuda Tattoo, the Keep Yard, to mark the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Regiment.
